I miss BFA

it’s always “the vocal minority” who have problems with everything.

…but they insist they speak on behalf of “everyone”.

I played BFA my friend. I was here in the forums too. I feel like they were crying for the wrong reasons. BFA had its problems, I’m not saying it was a great expansion, but given Shadowlands, I prefer BFA for the reasons listed above. I also feel like the bad systems from BFA are back again in SL but with a different name and slight modifications.

Yes

It’s pretty much “you made your bed, now lay in it”

Other than a valid point about scarce loot i completely disagree with you. However, my question is, if you think they’re wrong all of a sudden they aren’t really part of the community? What’s with the quotes?

They asked for the current loot system. Look at the forums now. No one likes it. Feels to me like the vocal minority.

ToRghast is extreamly boring…but

TorGhast is 100% better than stupid Island tedious farming and the Horrific Vision was so horrific that my sanity also degraded in rl.

You do realize the entirety of the wow forums are technically a vocal minority right? Forum population vs player population…

I still think Cataclysm was worse but BfA a close second.

WoD is the one I think gets unfairly skewered. Was light on content but what was there was high quality stuff.

Quotes because “community” is basically influencers (streamers and youtubers) who are probably the top 1% hardcore players that want to influence the change of the game towards how they want to play, but the rest of the 99% may be negatively affected.

Hard disagree for Dazar’alor. I didn’t even play my Horde toons until flying was unlocked.

Personally, I’m still willing to play Shadowlands, whereas I despised BfA from beginning to end. Every time I subbed during BfA, I stopped logging in within two weeks.

What’s noticeable is that BfA was pretty universally disliked by the player base, on and off the forums, while Shadowlands still has the player base split on its enjoyment factor.

I agree loot was far better in BFA, but everything else on that expansion sucked and I hated it and if I could I would completely erase the knowledge about BFA from my memory.

8.0 vs 9.0? 8.0 easy. 8.1 and 8.2 were pretty meh though. The class changes are great in SL but the fact it took them so long is pretty icky, you got to wonder what those goons get up to in Anaheim. Anyways I’m gonna go huff some soul ash, you know… for the Light.

I think Shadowlands is vastly better than BfA, but on this I agree.

It seems perhaps they listened to the streamer “community”, not normal players.

Getting gear is fun. The whole point is to kill dragons and get treasure. Not enough treasure so far in this xpac imo.

WoD is definitely misrepresented. Content was sparse but what we had was good and it was also the last expansion in which we had good class design without borrowed power.

yes, they complained about loot falling from the sky.
blizzard changed things so it doesn’t, and now people want it to rain loot again.

i’m glad we could agree… i guess? :woman_shrugging:

Yup, exactly this.

Yes. Some players asked for this.

I agree. But that is the issue with the game. Some players want A. Some players want B. A and B are completely opposite…

The stuff is like water. I’m pretty sure if there was a world wide drought, every country would be talking about it too.

It doesn’t sound like a problem to me to get geared up in 3 weeks if you are running high-end content constantly. And factually speaking, you couldn’t possibly have gotten BiS in every slot in only 3 weeks, as the end-of-dungeon rewards were only slightly above Heroic raiding.

Even in BfA, the more average player might take 1-3 months to gear up (and again not BiS in every slot), and then actually enjoy their geared toon or try out an alt.

The problem with SL is that you can spam M+ for 3 weeks and get almost no upgrades, as the base reward is low for the difficulty of the content and your Great Vault might spawn a better item in the PvP or raiding row (which means basically no M+ chest for you).

I would prefer the gearing system in BfA over SL by a longshot. Either way, you are not getting fully BiS overnight, but at least in BfA you were steadily getting upgrades.

Except (1) many of us were ok with the BfA loot system, and (2) even those that weren’t, weren’t saying that ANY change would be better.
