This is the best solution to the flight issue. It’s to bad blizzard won’t implement it.
His/her argument overall was flawed because Blizzard changed the flying requirements before and gave everyone flying in Cata/Mists by default where everyone who played at that time had to pay gold for it. You don’t see those people making threads asking for their gold back.
They want flying uncoupled from the achievement. That is essentially making it free-for-all. They feel it is old enough content to warrant the change. They don’t want to earn it like everyone else did.
That’s entitlement.
You’re right, it was never free. And it should never be free. Which is a clear statement that blizzard agrees with me.
Sounds ok, but thy did make a decision, and they really don’t have to consult any of the players, since the market research that they do is usually sufficient.
For the 5th time, Blizzard gave everyone flying in Cata/Mists for free without having to pay for Cold Weather or Winds while everyone back then had to pay for those. You don’t see us asking for our money back or saying “NO! All those new players or people returning should have to pay too because I had to!”
I return your question to you.
Pay for it… who cares… they should be able to pay for it and have access to it… end of story. That is essentially them putting it the work. Problem solved. No entitlement
Your comparing a gold cost to an achievement. They are not the same thing. Gold value has diminished greatly over the years. 10,000 gold now is far less valuable than 10,000 gold was in TBC and WoTLK.
It’s so devalued that the cost of getting alts max-flying is not even a questionable sacrifice. Virtually everyone buys it because it is now heavily accessible.
By that same merit, you are vastly more powerful than you were in WoD and Legion, and are able to crush the (now nerfed requirement) content and more easily get the ability to fly.
The fact that you are still complaining warrants me to believe you won’t be satisfied until the cost is so low it is made completely irrelevant and moot. That or the cost is removed all together.
Edit: We will never fundamentally agree. That much is clear. Some of us like the merit of earning, while others prefer just being given things.
That’s irrelevant. Not to mention, the fact that gold isn’t worth much now means that the original cost of Cold Weather Flying being 1000g was a lot compared to today.
I explained how it isn’t fair for returning or new players and how I would be willing to compromise, but what’s your point?
Draenor isn’t too difficult, as you can buy the rep tokens that drop from the rares off the AH on occasion - yeah, it costs gold, but it’s the easiest way to do it (unless you choose to go farm rares in Tanaan).
Legion is a little trickier, but similar, as you can just spam the Rep Token missions in your Order Halls. And I think they’re BoA too, so you can mail a bunch of them to one character.
It will take a month tops to get flying. You might as well werk away on it because patch 8.2 won’t be out for ages.
Agreed. What is the purpose of making flying just a hassle for casual players? There’s already enough content in the game to keep casual players busy so why make it difficult for us to enjoy it?
Not everyone enjoys grinding out certain things just for the purpose of unlocking everything or completing everything. Flying is simply a way of travel that should be rewarded once max level comes at the least.
I agree about the keystones, and I stopped doing mythics after the first week. Blizzard needs to stop taking agency away from players.
Pathfinder is fine and they’ve even made it easier. My one ask for Blizzard is to let us use the Legion app again, and make the rep missions there more frequent. With the right missions you could get flying from scratch in a week or two, and also be well on your way to unlocking your class mount, artifact skins, allied races and more besides.
You can do it OP! Don’t let your dreams be dreams!
Sounds to me like you are your own worst enemy then.
Right. So at any given time anything you think will make the game fail/you don’t like and you could be on your way?
Oh yea you’re definitely the fickle customer any company would be foolish to not bend over backwards for. LOL
Really? I mean that is your reasoning…smh
Bye Felicia
TBC was a super long slog. But even with that, I hit max at like 3 months of daily play. Took me 8 months to hit 60 in vanilla…that was sloooow (I was lost most of the time).
TBC was slow even with flying (man, epic flying was expensive!). But good times nonetheless. All the xpacs were fun for me, even when I was failing and dying lots and all that. It’s like we’re gaming here.
Because you can casually get Pathfinder by just playing the game. The only one that feels it’s urgent is you. So if it’s so urgent why not just giturdone?
A journey of a million miles begins with 1 step. Start steppin.
I got the class mount on 5 toons but after doing it twice with a ground mount I decided to just finish the pathfinder for Legion and then I did the wod pathfinder just to do it. And then I went back to wod and farmed mounts and did some garrison stuff. It’s really worth doing takes a little bit of time, the Legion one takes a little longer to get due to rep than the wod one does since the wod one you can buy rep tokens on the AH.
I used to make alts to break the monotony which then slowed the process even more.
