I Like BFA and I like WOW

Kinda feel you’re debating a point i’m not arguing against.
Of course there is a business side to a company.
Problem is…business has been blatantly before customers for most of the expansion.
Like I said in a above post, problem isn’t content, it’s how trash the abundance of content we have is.
Gearing is like in the worse state it’s even been and Ion already said that it’s working as intended.
It’s not often that you see every blizzard QnA having more dislikes then likes, clear issues with the game. They don’t fix the fundamental issues with the game but add in mounts…Thats my issue.

Nah,just a rambly way to ask “What would be fun content” is all :stuck_out_tongue: As for the youtube stuff it normally depends nationwise as I looked on the EU side and the ratio was pretty even. I feel some of the dislikes were some people still not over the Blizzcon and DI panel but that’s because some PC gamers tend to hate non PC ports such as mobile and on occasion, console much as I love playing PC games the community can be a little vindictive and elitist if there’s no exclusives their way. As for driving subs away,I doubt it’s as severe as people make it out to be as my servers are still pretty full,MG is still active,WRA is still active and when I last poked firetree,it looked to be in okay shape. It’s fine to not enjoy the game anymore but to say the sky is falling by anyone is a tad much. As for sub numbers, that’s a catch 22 as most games don’t always release sub numbers and shouldn’t have to especially if people use it as the default “I didn’t get my way therefore the subs are low and this game is dying.” WoW is still in the millions bracket which is still pretty healthy especially for MMO standards where there are games out there with significantly less that still seem to be functioning without too much issue or they would have shut down a long time ago.

Ok, here’s the thing. Everyone in the world can say something being fun is subjective…Because it is.

Of course some people will have fun staring at a tree in the game.

But I’m going off the majority.

Blizzcon QnAs have more dislikes then likes, game is driving away subscribers. If sub numbers were released I’m almost 100% it’d be one of the lowest points in game history. And I base that off the amount of people there are to actually play with.

Edit: Things I enjoy in the game: Warmode with friends is a blast, Uldir is a good raid, and mythic+ is loads of fun whenever the affixes aren’t annoying.

You do realize that a business depends on its customers, right?

Revenue just doesn’t come out of thin air.

You might not feel like their target consumer, but there’s likely a team inside Blizzard whose entire job is to maximize the happiness of their customers.

Perhaps that’s what you mean anyway? I know some people feel like the game is failing, because it’s trying to make more people happy, instead of a select bunch who feel like the game should only be tailored to them.

Yes, I must be the only one who thinks that blizzard is making a ton of mistakes…Which reminds me, have you seen the recent QnAs, the recent releases of mounts, etc… That dislike bar is much heavier then the like.

Disliking blizzard’s business practices isn’t a meme, it’s there are fundamental issues with the games, it’s driving subs away (can almost guarantee this is one of the least subbed moments in game history), and lots of people flat out have left.

If you really think people on the forums alongside the majority of a blizzard QnA being dislikes is a minority that wants to be tailored to…Can’t help ya there.

Nah, you’re not the only one. You’re probably one of a hundred thousand or so. Maybe even more. Who knows?

But compared to millions… well, sucks to be part of the thousands, you know?

And yeah, disliking Blizzard’s business practices is pretty much a meme at this point. There’s really no logical reason to dislike their shop, especially since everything in this game is available with gold. You can even buy other Blizzard games, services and products with gold.

When the shop existed without the token, sure you had a good argument.

And you’re right. It’s probably one of the least-subbed moments in game history. Sure. Next expansion around this time might be lower. 10 years from now it will probably be significantly lower or it might plateau. Who knows?

Unless you’re a financial advisor for Blizzard Entertainment or a shareholder (which you should be still happy since over the years the trend is still up), why should you care?

The QnA’s are all filled with “apologies”, “we’ll improve communications” and “this is our vision and players should appreciate this more” talks every single time. People are making bingo sheets for them for what a joke these are.

Yeah, Asmongold - THAT guy. I sat through one of his diatribes on YT and came away feeling sorry for him. He’s one of those people who isn’t happy unless he’s miserable, and if he can make YOU miserable, then the happier/more miserable he is.

So, after further consideration of the whole issue, I decided the following: If Blizz is failing the game and its customers, let them know about it. There’s a reason they got booed at the last Blizzcon and I bet they know that.

Meanwhile, I have some alts and some very good friends ingame I can play with while I wait for Blizz to say something like, “Okay, we admit it - there’s something wrong here and we’re going to do our best to fix it.”

And yeah, I’ll be patient and wait - even though the cricket chirping will probably increase in volume as I do.

That’s normally because some people feel THEIR question should have been the one asked. Normally it’s the same questions over and over about class balance or a question some would perceive as a HARDBALL question,as though trying to investigate some scandal from a corporation. What would be a hard question to ask anyway that people want answered so badly? It feels like people are narking on AAA companies for the sake of narking on AAA companies rather than leaving persistent, constructive critiques. Sure you could say “They didn’t listen to beta feedback” but question is was it valid feedback of game breaking bugs? Or was it just more salt about their favorite class spec? Did people really leave critiques that could have helped? Or did they treat beta like early access and played it leaving nothing that could fix potential or alleged problems? I tend to be skeptical as 2018 seems to have been a year of nonstop slander in all forms of entertainment and particular communities. And again, the subs could have gone down a bit as you claim but if that were the case where it was in an unhealthy state, then it would be shutting down by now if not soon rather than having other expansions planned for the future which indicates it’s doing well, even if it didn’t have the numbers it did in Wrath. And to reiterate, with introducing something as a survey and people doing it,this could lead them to making content people want [even if they do change their mind because WoW fans are friggin fickle]

Yeah, you’re delusional at this point, can’t help ya. If the game is at the lowest subbed points in history, obvious issues with the game. Oh what was I thinking? Of course everyone who is silent loves the game…So that must be the people you’re speaking for, wait that’s sarcasm. Because lots of people just aren’t vocal about it, so you can talk about “millions” when there is no statistical proof of anything you say being valid, where actual numbers on the other hand support the point I’m making. And you’re right, blizzard keeps doing the same stuff they’re doing now, game will be just like any other MMO.

Blows my mind you can say that TONS of people unsubscribing, tons of people disliking aspects of the game are considered a minority, just because not 100% of the people who play the game aren’t vocal. But that’s my concluding remark, much of what you said hasn’t been anything worth noting just you giving science about business structures and such.

So here my theory. A lot of the guys I see crying about WoW are in their 30’s and yes I said guys.

It appears a lot of these people are just now waking up to the reality that their lives are empty voids of no real life accomplishments outside of WoW.

They cry about the sub price which honestly is so minimal in my view it is hilarious. I pay more at McDonalds than I do for this.

Top reddit post a week ago talked, 31k upvotes. Talks about the game being bad. Most forums outside of the wowforum that is related to wow has very negative things to say about it. Most videos are disappointed about games current systems. Concluding remarks. You were correct about fun being subjective, however a tons of people agree that the game is in a bad spot right now.

Share these numbers that you’re privy to. Nobody else has such proof.

You don’t know how many people are unsubscribing or why. You don’t know how many people are still playing and having a good time. You don’t actually know anything other than how you feel about the game, and you can point us to some others that might have similar feelings.

But you don’t have numbers to back anything up. You don’t have anything to back your claims up.

You’re just another disgruntled who can’t stay away from something you don’t enjoy. So you want to feel like everyone else is in the same boat and you seem to really want to see this game fail.

But it isn’t.

31,000.

What was the leak that couldn’t be backed up, but everyone thought the sky fell? 3.2 million?

3,200,000 vs 31,000

0.009% is such a huge majority.

Puremallace, I am very happy to see that you are living a wonderful life outside of WoW. As to the void comment, relatively true, I’m more introvert so I’d prefer to play games in spare time. So all I can say is you got me boss man, nice job. But while you keep making fun of people who play video games while playing video games yourself, I’m gonna get back to the topic.

You are projecting, and no, its not about what they’ve accomplished before, they want to have fun in the now when they play the game. I know it might be hard concept to grasp, that criticism here is people wanting to improve the game based on the mechanics the game once had and has since removed. Don’t even have to go that far back, just compare BFA to Legion.

Sub pricing? You have no idea why people are even complaining about, you didn’t even bother reading any of their posts. I paid for 2 years in in-game wow-gold for my sub fee, I stopped playing in November.

Sure, go look how many level 120s exist in the game. I’m not going off the 3.2 million leak, go look at anything that has to do with the game outside of these forums, mostly negative.

Again you’re assuming that every single 3.2 million (which is a speculated number), who doesn’t vocalize is enjoying the game or hasn’t already unsubbed. Such a poor point to make.

PS: Of course not all 120s represent sub numbers, but then again not tons of people play the game to just level. But there are some.

This is just asinine. If you think the amount of complaints will be a deciding factor for further funding for WoW, just lol. Its all about money. Its the only thing that matters to ActiBlizz. If anything, that mentality should help you understand BFA’s shortcomings. It was rushed out the door to save money.

Thinking complaints will have anything to do with it is just /clownshoes. Imagine an Activision board meeting. “These nerds are saying very mean things on this website I’ve never been to. We should shut down WoW to teach them a lesson instead of trying to milk all their money from them!”

I am watching these people cry CONSTANTLY wanting broken system back that worked for them and made them feel special.

They apparently need a hug. People are taking this stuff way too seriously. Blizzard is delivering content. It is not their fault no lifers have felt the need to max out every stat then cry about it.

WoW is not supposed to be everything to everyone. The game is fun for me and they have fixed a lot of the issues that caused me to leave in Wrath. Go do something else with your life.

Here lets go try this. Go play another MMO and make all the absolutely insane demands of them that you guys are making of Blizzard.

Yes everyone who plays the game and complains about it not being as good as it used to is a no lifer. Glad we grabbed a hold of your premises and reached a sound conclusion. Got to say your quite the tactician Puremallace, impressive work.

The 3.2 was a speculated low number, and it was just for one market.

But even though this doesn’t mean anything: According to https://realmpop.com (which is only this one market)

2,491,228 level 120 characters in the US
2,956,300 level 120 characters in the EU.

5,447,528 level 120 characters in one market.

Doesn’t really tell much of a story other than at least that many toons were leveled this expansion. I’m responsible for like 8 of them tho.

Still doesn’t seem like a failed game.

Compare that to the next “best” game:
https://ffxivcensus.com/

Also, keep in mind that people are playing this game that never make it to max level. IDK what percentage of the population they make up, but they’ve always been a part of the subscription model.
