That’s the funniest thing I’ve read all morning lol thanks for making me almost spit out my coffee.
I leave most of these keys if people aren’t doing 1 million overall DPS.
I was doing 700-800k when the expansion launched on my Rogue. If you can’t do 1 million right now I am leaving, I’m sorry. I don’t care about any excuses. If you can’t do 1 mil damage right now you’re bad and if you’re new you don’t belong in +5s. Practice on the training dummy, do the raid, etc.
I won’t necessarily leave, but if you’re in an 8+ and not above 2-3M on the first pull I know it’s going to be a rough run. I’ve been able to pull some across the line, but this has held pretty true across the board this season.
For a +5???
First if your able to do 1M overall what are you even doing in a +5, you should be running +10’s. And the expectation of a 1M in a +5 is pretty insane considering you can time it with 3 people who are doing 600K.
You two should have a math discussion, because your numbers aren’t adding up.
Bottom line, I was doing 800k on my Rogue on Xpac launch. People in 5s can’t even do 500k. Don’t know what to tell you, you can post lies on the forums all day, don’t really care lol.
“I didn’t pug”
Then you have no clue what I’m talking about.
We’re getting elitist about +5s now???
Will there be an e-sports channel for +5s?
Why people insist on continuing to engage in anti-social behavior while attempting some of the hardest content in the game is just baffling to me. If you are interested in pushing keys, ultimately, you should be trying to form a consistent group of like-minded people who are willing to learn and improve as a team. That’s how the top guys do it.
But my guess here is that OP doesn’t really want to improve, rather he wants to be passenger-princessed through mythic plus.
It’s easier to find a raiding guild than a mythic plus team.
(I’ve tried on and off in the past.)
I’ve run a +5 and everyone was around 600k and we still timed it.
I’ve run quite a few +10’s where people are doing 1M and we time them. Hell you have three DPS start pushing 1.5M and you are looking to two or even three chest a +10 depending on the dungeon.
As far as the poster above you he is talking about burst not over all damage. The first pull of a dungeon is usually large and one where everyones CD’s should be up and depending on the dungeon and week even have lust. This is going to push your numbers on that pull far higher than your overall is going to be.
I mean thats pretty common info, not sure how you would miss that considering I said overall and you quoted it and he said first pull, although you did cut that quote off.
Just as an example to illiterate on my pally I can burst as high as 6.5M with a first pull sitting around 3M and my total overall for the dungeon dropping to 1.5-1.8M.
I’m just pointing it out because it seems to be an unreasonably high expectation to reach for such a low key.
The key is that you shouldn’t be looking for an already existing mythic plus team, rather if you want to push keys you should be looking to START a mythic plus team. Think of all those successful pugs you’ve run, all those people who are themselves trying to claw their way up the pugging hellscape. If you reach out to them and ask if they would be interested in joining a push group, you’d probably find a fair few that would say yes.
All it requires is a bit of up front socialization and you’re off to the races. Had a close friend of mine come back in S3 of DF, having never pushed keys in their life, and they formed a push group with another friend and 3 randoms they found while doing keys together and they got .1% title with the most random off the wall comp (no lust) I’ve ever seen.
It’s very possible
Reading comprehension is hard effing work, cuz.
Is everyone having “fun” debating dps numbers and inane strategy instead of enjoying the game?
Because thats how we see m+ people.
Bean counters who hate their own game.
Even funnier that you think you have friends, when not one of them would come help you change a tire on the side of the freeway.
Given that most of them live several states away, or even in different countries, that I’m perfectly capable of changing my own flat (I’m 61 and have changed a few in my time), and that I have roadside service, that’s hardly a criteria I care about. I have friends in my local community I can call on when needed. My neighbors helped me shovel snow off my roof last winter, less because I needed help and more just to visit.
My WoW friends and I help each other with WoW things, whether it’s carrying each other’s alts through keys, crafting upgrades, or solving mysteries. We also hang out in discord most nights and socialize.
It wouldnt matter if he did, his main hasnt hit 2k since 2017 and hasnt even done a mythic since halls of infusion in DF. His opinion matters about as much as the opinion of anyone else’s who dont play the game.
If you actually ever did anything relevant, one missed absorb could be the difference between a successful pull and a wipe.
4 deaths literally don’t even matter anymore since blizzard added 6 deaths worth of timer to every dungeons timer. If 4 deaths means you aren’t timing your keys, you are far worse of a player/group than the average group. even at a 12+ level one wipe doesnt kill the key anymore because there is just straight up 6 free deaths.
This is the absolute only thing you’ve said that has any merit. You are absolutely right that pathing needs to be better. Especially when they can’t make the excuse you just gave them by saying the dungeons “just werent made for x class back then”, because their whole reason (beyond breaking monotony) for bringing old dungeons into new seasons/expansions was to update them. If they aren’t fully updating them for new classes that may or may not have existed at the time they were originally created, why bring them back at all?
That’s not even getting into how different the specs are from when they first brought them in. ALL the classes, and the gear/on uses they have, played significantly differently than when the cataclysm dungeons were new, for example.
Right, I should have mentioned that part, no one is going to overly care about just more enemies, (unless they all do ability combos like now) but the percentage/pathing changes are what killed that affix.
No, because the system can easily tell an involuntary kick from a voluntary leave.
And it is your right to decide what to do with your time. I honestly am baffled how people complain about “wasting” other peoples time when you leave, but do not see how one selfs time is wasted carrying dead wood, so they can get 5 crests and 55g.
Valuing time is important for everyone. If you want to roleplay through m+ thats fully ok with me, but i prefer blasting keys in time and i only run with groups that are like minded. Having to lower your own quality for anyone else is self sabotage. You do this for children so they can understand and learn. Mythic plus is a place where the best want to move on.
Being stuck because of other peoples performance is super unfair.
So yes dearest OP. Can only underline it. Leaving keys is a must if you want to maintain your quality.
I love this thread. It hits all my pleasure points.
- OP doesnt know what theyre saying or even arguing about
- Bait topic, buzzwords
- Loads of replies
- Discussion is fragmented and obscure by design, thanks OP
- Salt literally rains down and gets stuck into my scroll wheel through the screen
- Sarcastic comments
- No progress has been and will not be made
- OP hasnt been banned yet
Cant wait for the saga to continue in the next episode of “Why Im unjustifiable banned from M+”.
