I know I'm an old fart.. But is Retail getting confusing?

I’m just going to say it:
The Talents, Spellbook, and Specialization tabs, (all separate keykinds), could all and should all be efficiently consolidated down to one panel that doesn’t take up the whole GD screen. Effing obnoxious and amateur.

I love Futurama but tbh I think the current season is not really good. The first season come back was pretty good though.

I’m confused – Can you give me more insight on this?

My seconds go-around w/Cata and the 2nd time I enjoyed it…not sure why but I did.

If you made it to level 80 you must have done the “Campaign” which is basically the story so far. You can do the Story Mode Raid to see how the queen was dispatched.

The rest is peripheral to the main story. It’s just exploration, chasing gear, professions and the usual list of suspects.

Well from one oldy to another, your best bet is addons. I use a bunch of them, mostly free. I pay a sub for one that does everything else I need it too. I am never lost, can farm whatever I like, and it differentiates between campaign and side optional stuff. Might be worth checking out.

None of it is irrelevant. Sidequests are no longer about collecting 10-15 of a thing to fill up your exp bar and then moving on. They’re about telling stories. Many of them very interesting ones.

Does the new robot slave driver (manager) still beat me lifeless and yell for me to work till I drop like my old fleshy model?

I tend to go into my map (minimap and world) settings and turn everything off that I am not interested in doing at the moment. It simplifies it for me and allows me to follow either local stories or campaign quests as I see fit.

Im not saying it does. Im only telling the OP he’s not alone in feeling this way. The bullies are not the issue, they just make people not want to talk about what actually is the issue for them. Thats all I meant. :upside_down_face:

You were very clear in your meaning and intent.

No, I don’t feel confused. I like how story quests have different exclamation point markers over quest givers compared to normal quests and dailies, for example. I do think they could go further and color-code quests in the quest log, though. FF14 does a great job of adding backgrounds and images to seasonal quests and so on as well. WoW should copy that.

But this is coming from someone who has played since vanilla. I can’t begin to imagine how confusing this must be to a new player, who doesn’t know they need to get half their information for anything from third parties like wowhead and YouTubers.

BtWQuests addon is great for tracking progress along quest lines and quest prereqs.

I think questing has been pretty well put together, essentially no thought needs to be had to complete a majority of quests, whether that be dailies, leveling, major/minor quests etc.

And I get the whole thing of not sure what to do. When you hit max level it does feel as though you’re pushed into the deep end and told to swim. The game attempts to point you in some directions, but it’s a blink and you’ll miss it type of thing.

I think my problem is everything has turned so external to figure out how to do everything.

The best example is the 20th Bronze Celebration Tokens. Everyone I knew in my discord were trying to figure out where to get them, how to get them, how many can you get, etc. You essentially had to go to WoWhead or some other external website to figure it out.

I think that’s just the name of the game with majority of online games in general now, or even to some extent gaming as whole. I know people who burn through Baldurs Gate 3 just straight shooting the main story. Just the way a lot of entertaining consumption in general is done, consume product/entertainment move on to next product 1 minute later.

20th for WoW, 30th for Warcraft

I’m not super old, 32, been playing the new expac since launch. I took a 2 week break once I got to the “pushing keys” part of the grind.

I can’t get back into it. It’s just too much of nothing.

I wish I could just hop on and play a quick, fun dungeon, but that seems to be impossible. I tried a delve and immediately closed out of the game. There’s too many “please stay in the game” mechanics that you see after playing games that are actually fun.

Retail? No, retail isn’t getting confusing.

People and their lack of critical thinking and humility is, though. More of the game could probably be enjoyed were it not for so much hellbent behaviors.

All I know is that collecting globs of wax is relevant, important and heroic.
