I’m not saying to get rid of timers - just have an option without - maybe add extra damage or something to make up for the difficulty?
The mad rush of mythics actually impacts fun, learning and socialization. I could also argue that is one of the key contributors to toxicity.
People that are rushing aren’t communicating. Part of playing a MMO is the ability to socialize with other people - make jokes, talk etc. Pugged mythics usually have two times when people people communicate “Hi” and “Thanks for the run!” (that last one is rare).
i dont play mythic plus as i hate the timer portion and general toxicity, but its entire design is around timers. your timer-less option is m0 and below.
Not op, but maybe they could make M0 worth running so more people do it? I have some mythic plus experience, but I would love for a reason for more people to do mythic zero because its harder than heroics but not timed.
M0 having the LFD queue is the only next step to making it easier to get into and offering the same satchel reward as regular LFD for role shortages. I dont know what they could do rewards wise to make it more appealing without stepping on higher difficulty rewards.
Mythic 0 gear is only good for base leveling and I would like to enjoy the dungeons past that. I want an option for better gear where people can still socialize and also not tear through the dungeon at breakneck speed. You don’t even get to enjoy the dungeon at those speeds - its just a silent blur.
Idk, I see chat and jokes in my keys. You gotta set the vibe though. Like Elk said, advertise for or join groups advertising for chill times or good vibes. And then make a joke, especially if it’s at your own expense for a small mistake. People will usually reflect the energy they’re given.
I blurred the names just incase but yeah further to my normal keys I do a lot with random just to help (tanking is fun again). There are lots of people who share your mentality
Honestly, I agree but I definitely don’t think there should be no timer at all. May get flamed for this opinion, But, I know its a MMO and all but people do have lives and don’t want there time to be waisted because someone has to keep AFKing during a dungeon or have zero clue what there doing. I think a pause should be implemented. Maybe like 2 pauses per dungeon or 3 for lower Keys 2 for mid tier keys and 1 for high end Keys. This would solve 2 things
You could actually take a little time in a higher key to explain a mechanic/communicate to your team what the plan is. (This would also solve what your talking about with the lack of Communication in a M+ Key)
If someone needs to use the bathroom real quick or something among those lines they can.
Probably would need a timer on the pause for sure like 5 min maybe.
Another option could be making anything below a +10 so +9 and lower have a huge timer. Long enough to time it with like 10-15 deaths or something. Maybe more. But not so long where other people can ruin it for others. By being to slow. (Tank pulling one mob at a time for example) or someone just dying to everything (Under geared maybe).
I think my first idea is superior but just some thoughts we can all ponder.
This is basically already the case. So long as your DPS is decent, you can easily eat 12+ deaths and still time those lower keys with multiple minutes to spare.
Deaths don’t even add to the timer anymore in the lowest couple of key levels, right? Like… c’mon lol.
