I will agree with you, on the condition that you have also played all the other major MMOs out there right now. I actually just did, saving this for last. It is actually the worst one I have played by miles.
The most fun part about pre patches has historically been how broken it is. The game isnât tuned for pre patch abilities/trees/changes.
In the WOTLK â cataclysm pre-patch, druids were 1 shotting people in WSG. Itâs just part of the experience.

Problem is just how broken âphase 2â even is right now. Evokers are still by far the worst preformer class the game has ever seen in every single area of the game. And the pre patch event is a mess last time they tried to test it.
While I havenât even bought it.
Rule of thumb: Donât Pre-order digital games, since they donât have availability issues; youâll get a copy whenever you pay for it. Let game companies know: they wonât get money before they present a good product.

I am glad I didnât buy the new expac. I got Beta. Made a new class/race dragon. Boring. Copied my character over. Still bored.
I think I am finally over wow. Be a bit before I throw classic towel in, but I think retail is donezo for me.
I do, sincerely, hope that the expansion is good and people enjoy it. I want the game to be good again even if I am not playing it.
I think threads like these are really interesting and probably have some value to the design and marketing teams. People complain atm about DF not having a lot to pull them in, whether itâs flashy features or a big villain. Iâd ask people to think back to SL, covenants, conduits, and torghast. Were these features actually good and would you have bought the expansion of you knew how they would turn out?
For me, the lack of these kinds of features are what draw me into DF because those features are what kept me from playing much. Weâre going back to the pre-borrowed-power formula for expansions and thatâs the best thing that couldâve happened to this game.
Pre burrowed power expansions equal boredom what else is there to do if you ainât grinding something. Most people done played this game so long they done got all the mog they want mounts stuff like that and thereâs absolutely nothing else to do in df but raid pvp or keys and that crap gets cleared quick then boredom then mass unsubbing cause boredom.
The last two comments show that there is no consensus on what âthe playersâ want, despite claims to the contrary.

I think there needs to be a balance of new and old.
If the game is more old then new, then whatâs the point? If the game is more new than old, then it has appeal, or its too much.
My take on DF is that it doesnât offer enough, the Evoker doesnât interest me and dragon riding while it may be fun for awhile, itâs definite going to get stale.
Itâs basically and expansion with talent trees.
