I lost respect a long time ago for anyone who lost respect for someone who deserved no respect in the first place whatsoever.
What did he do to deserve your respect in the first place? All streamers do is play games, sure it may be entertaining but that’s all there is to it.

Lol, it’s hard to not find out who he is if you’ve been playing for a while… I got into WoW in 2019, I watched a lot of videos on how to do things to get around in retail… like how and where to find mounts, a lot of my research was on YouTube… and the first videos just happen to be asmongold making videos (not streams) of how to find such and such mounts, or how to do something else. At this time, I thought he was just some random a hole that not too many people knew and just made videos for fun, but the more research in WoW I did, I always kept seeing him… and I did start liking him more, I’ve never been on one of his streams besides on zackrawrs dark soul stream one day while lurking in twitch… but i don’t go to twitch all that often… 0-2 times a month visit. I’m a youtuber daily … and now asmongold is always in my top feed, and I kinda don’t mind it, except for all the old videos I already watched.
He can come off as a rude dick, and his audience looks a little insane… but it’s still nice to hear someones opinion on stuff, he’s not all that bad of a person. He just tries to be funny and stuff I guess.
I don’t like some of his content, it ain’t all interesting, but what I do like are his mount off competitions, transmog competitions, and his tier list videos are my favorite, maybe cause I like to see everyones opinions on tier stuff.
One of the most amazing videos I’ve seen of his is where he played some kind of geography game (I don’t remember the name or where it is) where it showed a 360 picture and you had to guess where exactly in the map of WoW that location is… and his results were pretty amazing and impressive, I think he got 75-90% right. He really knows his stuff about this game, and he’s way bigger than I thought when I first saw him it seemed like lol.
It was pretty funny to see his dad on a stream video during the dark portal opening… he’s an interesting character too, so is his mom, wouldve loved to get my mom into WoW if only she was a gamer… my dad was a gamer but never got to try WoW or neither did I while he was around. His dad would cuss a lot and asmon would around him too, my dad wouldn’t even let me say a word lol, I once yelled “Shii…” on my PC and my dad hollered from the other room to “not use that N-word language” … lol.
Anyway, I would assume 95% regular WoW players know who he is cause we all need to do our research on some things sometimes and YouTube just happens to put his stuff at the very top of their website with WoW content… that’s probably how he got recognized.

Asmon is not as toxic as you guys are claiming.

he’s from austin lol, I was there in early May.
To be fair the level of presence he has in my mind is generally the worst kind to someone who banks on people caring about them.
I don’t even remember about him most of the time, and when I do I don’t even care. The only time I have an opinion is when other people say something about him that I can relate to image that people have formed of him.
Otherwise I not only know nothing about him, but simply don’t see a reason to learn more. Not because I hate him, but because he’s not relevant.

Asmongold is basically the definition of hypocrite. McConnell is basically a whiny kid who throws a tantrum whenever he doesn’t get what he wants, which Asmonbald does too.
How anyone can respect such goobers is beyond me.
