Except you’re not being honest here, because you can already use some abilities without going into dragon form. What you want is to be able to completely play as an Evoker without entering dragon form, which betrays the entire point of the class in the first place.
And yes, making the Dracthyr form optional and removing the dragon-based animations makes you a second-hand Mage, because the only thing that really makes this class unique is the dragon angle.
All I read was “I’m a dragon simp and I hate others having a choice to not be a lizard.” Balance druids can glyph of stars boomy form away. Thats all I gotta say to prove its not about class fantasy. Wanna be a dragon? Wild how the entire dragon race is in a humanoid form 90% of the time.
this argument is nutty. ‘what’s the difference between a priest and a paladin, besides a tanking spec?’ seriously? they’re different classes with different lore, different gameplay. absolutely no one is gonna confuse an evoker for a mage because they’re in visage form, unless they’re being willfully ignorant.
oh my god, you’re right! and why’d they make all the real warlocks night elves and blood elves only? they’re the only ones who can turn into demons, and having more than one class use the same sort of magic is, as we know, homogenization and must be avoided!
don’t think i need or want to. i’ve heard the idea floated many times when people got whiny about more races getting new classes, and all of the arguments were tired back then, too
Okay well so you don’t want to participate in the conversation just scream “I’m right” got it. I guess that saves me from interacting with a troll. Good for me I guess.
Stop coming on our forums and trying to change our class on a fundamental level. We have a class identity. Its draconic. You can like it or leave.
visages are integral lore for dragons. was a huge part of the story from the expac. the loading screen for dragonflight has the aspects wearing elf and human faces. visages are draconic. pretending like they’re not because you have some narrow view of how everyone should play a class is cringe to me, personally
Priests, Paladins, and Mages are standard RPG classes with decades of examples to build on from various games. No ones going to confuse a Paladin for a Priest.
Evokers however are completely a Blizzard invention unique to WoW, and the only thing that makes them unique from mages is their draconic angle.
