As addons have gotten better and better, encounters have had to become more knife-edge in terms of allowing for mistakes to compensate.

You aren’t wrong. Trying to track the many layers of simultaneous boss mechanics today without timers and warnings would be a Sisyphean task.

Mythic raiding being very unforgiving is necessary at this point because the original mechanics that made raiding difficult (organizing the groups, managing threat, farming consumables) are mostly non-factors now.

The fight itself being complex and demanding is also a more enjoyable experience than “log in during your off-days and farm up a hundred whipper root tubers,” so I consider that an absolute win.
