I’m not spending precious in-game gold for a temporary item that will last me only 0.x of a patch.
What I did was farm the mats, then look on the AH for the names of the crafters selling the item then send them an in game mail letter asking if they could craft it for a tip with your mats.
Cost me about $15k total with tip for my 262 legendary.
And you get to meet and build some community interaction on your server.
And my ysera/duraton server is low population. We haven’t had a single CE guild for a long time. We normally only have 5-6 guilds kill any mythic bosses at all. The furthest guild on this server in mythic SoD is 3/10.
This , i work more than game. So the gold i have i prefer to keep.
You can be casual and still have tons of gold.
If you don’t, you HAVE to buy tokens, farming 100k gold isn’t viable, which is the price in bad servers.
You are just lucky…
Remember when people used to brag about being able to afford Bruto-boy?
Well, Blizzard called your bluff.
Me? I’m making bank hand over first selling mats. Who needs actual professions when you can make 100K a week selling the raw materials?
OMG how lazy are people? 100k is a cakewalk. Unless you expect everything to be handed to you.
Again, you are just lucky. I know it can be a cakewalk, but not for all people. And in bad servers you straight up can’t other than farming it in PvE, which would be an INSANE waste of time.
In that time you can go out IRL and make 40 IRL $, spend half of it on a token and you now have 20$ on top of that, and you still wasted less time.
You know what would be really fun? If at the tail end of the expansion we could just equip all of the legendaries in Torghast. That would be cool…
There’s multiple mechanisms in the game to earn the gold, and on servers where it’s less easy to earn gold, the market lowers the price. Claming that you HAVE to buy a token is just a ridiculous excuse used by people who want to buy a skip.
I actually explained to you why you are wrong.
You are just saying “No”.
Unless you have anything real to say you’ve already lost this argument.
Say whatever makes you feel better about it, but nobody needs to buy a token.
Nobody “needs” anything.
You don’t need to eat, you can starve to death. You don’t need to drink water, or shower, etc.
That’s not what “need” means when people use it on sentences.
They should change the name of legendaries, they are not “legendary”. They are passive gear.
I don’t need pieces of gear that change the way I play in this game. I have already chosen my class and my spec. Why are they so obsessed with this idea.
Make 100million ways to buff different spells or abilities through 5 systems. It’s boring to try to make a character feel fun to use because they keep doing this.
Then like somebody else said up there, it all changes every patch!
I am playing less and less as days go by. Thanks, blizz, for allowing this type of behavior. You really don’t like casuals, do you? Can’t wait to see your losses next year.
Legendarys being gold only as a thing was a really bad call. I can’t understand how anyone defends it when knowing how blizzard went out of their way to make crafting the base pieces as awful as possible. Worse because of how they did it I’m pretty sure they can’t just walk back and make it good unlike everything else because otherwise all 100 of the people who can make rank 4 recipes would outright ragequit.
They shouldn’t be tied to gold.
Some classes REALLY need them. Others don’t though. I think Shaman it really is flavor.
For DH it’s also very minor, unless you go for the mobility one.
For Priest, mage, and paladin, as an example, It’s VERY vital. It can change the way you play and might as well get them fast to get used to it.
I don’t mind getting Legendaries as long as the path to acquiring them is fun which is not the case in Shadowlands in my opinion
Shaman ones define talent builds. Its actually crazy how impactful they are for shaman. But thats an issue that goes beyond. Some legendaries are so boring they aren’t even worth building your character around. Then some classes get legendaries so polarizing that it changes how you build your character to suit the new mechanics added by said legendary or covenant.
So, it wouldn’t be required to enter the raid then? I’m not sure you understand the issue here.
