From what I have gleaned from you throughout this thread is that you do not really like the core gameplay of classic, so I’d say that from my own experience it just means you do not like the game. Why do other people like it? Who Knows, maybe they have different preferences set. I for instance cannot stand any MOBA yet they are hugely popular even among my friend group. And not liking a game is completely fine. Liking a different version of WoW is as well.
But since you seem to want to know what other people do find fun about Classic, here’s my two cents:

I like the social interactions and just having this feeling that solely based on those, I really don’t know what each game session might bring because some of my in/game friends or a total stranger could throw my plan of doing content X completely overboard.

I ialso really just like the core gameplay loop where there is a modicum of strategy involved in killing mobs. I use strategy in the broad sesne here which includes things like, I have to keep in mind opposing players (for PVP realms), respawns, patrols and my own toolkit for how to deal with sitautions when sh it inevitably hits the fan. Now this strategy ofc diminishes if all you do is grind green mobs, but then again your kill to reward loop is quicker. But you do have the choice of what quests you attempt, so if you want a bigger challenge, due that red or orange quest or try to solo an elite quest. That’s what I do, all those sort of push you to think a bit more about your toolkit and what to do.

Perfecting the game play loop of say how quickly can I complete a quest, how easily can I grind in a spot without using CDs, or dying etc. is also something that I like and seeing how different classes can deal with different quests or grind spots

World Pvp is alsos omethign I suck at but it breaks up the tedium and I really enjoy seeing marked process of “Ok so I knwo where I messed up and what I have to do better next time”.

I also like getting gear because I do see a marked improvement in my gameplay in terms of speed and sustainability. Did you not notice this when you got a new gear piece?
These are just some of the main thigns I really like about WoW Classic combined with its slower pace and a version of the world I prefer
