MEH - I said what i said. Also in my second paragraph I said what I much rather do—that doesn’t equate to saying what everyone should do. (Opps said everyone again lol)
My alts will just run the main quests and not do any side quests.
If you do a majority of the side quests thru the previous three covenant zones, that is intended. You can’t actually arrive at the last zone until you are at least 58 anyways. Congrats, you can now just focus upon completing the campaign quests, unlock your covenant and all those bonuses and then do the side quests later if you wish.
It’s hard to time it so that you hit 60 at the end of the chapters then pick your covenant. Better be early.
Look at it this way. All the quest in Revendreth will now reward you max gold.
I had to go back and do a side quest because I needed to be 53 to finish Bastion
I did every side quest in Bastian and then realized I overdid it and had to stick only to the main campaign and I hit 60 well before finishing Revendreth.
I was playing with Warmode to be fair, so I had an extra 10% experience.
The side quests I feel are meant to be mostly skipped over, only added in when you need experience to meet the level breakpoints.
The side quests reward rep so they’re worth doing I think, even if you wait until 60 to do them.
You are doing all the side quests? I’m focusing on campaign quests mostly. Even with dual gathering professions and entering SL around level 50.3, I needed to pick up some side quests in Ardenweald at level 57 due to the level restriction for the campaign quest.
If I take rest EXP bonus strictly and not sharing kill EXP with other players, I might be able to make it just doing the main campaign. My understanding is that you need some side activities to cap, e.g. quests or dungeons, but not required.
This won’t work. As I stated earlier you don’t get enough xp to just do the story line, there will be 3 breakpoints where the next quest will be a white ! because you are underlevelled.
So, you’ll just be back to do them when pathfinder comes out…
I did all the side quests in bastion and hit level 55
Figured I should stop doing side quests since they level you up too far.
Couldn’t finish ardenweald since you needed to be level 58 to continue and I was not.
So I did all the side quests in ardenweald
Hit level 60 half way through revendreth
Levelling speed was… confusing to say the least
I guess i dont get it. Cant we run the content even if we’re 60?
I hit 60 on like the third quest in Rev and this is with 10% war mode bonus as a horde player. I was 54 leaving Bastion because of all the side quests I did.
I didn’t use warmode to level purely because I was afraid of hitting max too soon. I’m a major completionist so I too complete each zone (to the best of my ability, some side questlines were locked behind max level) before moving onto the next as well as unlocking the full “explore achievement”. I hit level 60 before I was even done with the ardenweald story and I was still there for quite a bit of time afterward. I did the entirety of revendreth at max and I kinda felt rushed to catch up to everyone else in my guild haha
I loved the story experience but it just seemed like the xp gains were wonky. In bfa I hit cap right after completing the first chapter or two in my third zone iirc so it was similar but not as extreme.
Speed levelling has been around since TBC. I can tell you right now no one hit max level in 3 hours. They have been going backwards for a long time now. Less content for the same money, its what they are all about. Maybe they should concentrate on content each xpac rather than bullsh!t new systems and trying to balance classes after they create the balance issues in the first place, its just a cop out.
Just hit 60. Guess I can’t do anything fun till I complete the main questline. I am about 1/3 through Revendreth.
WM off, hit 60 mid Ardenweald, did two dungeons in that time.
IMO it’s a good thing you can hit max level before you finish the story.
Yeah, I don’t believe that.
Yes, I made a tactical decision on my main to go ahead and complete the whole campaign. I’m okay with that.
I’m still in Bastion, but when its time to leave, can I pick where to go? Or am I stuck on one path? If that’s the case, leveling alts is going to get really monotonous.
This is the key, avoid the side quests.
