After leveling to 60 with my two brothers and splitting off to do covenants, the Night Fae play really seemed to hit me for some reason. One thing I believe you guys at Blizzard did incredibly well with Shadowlands, is making our character’s past count.
Although I only played in the pre-patch of BfA, I started this character as an orc 15ish years ago in vanilla…and it’s weird to feel even faint emotion when some of that past is acknowledged in the story. Yes, everyone gets this credit, and that’s fine…but I honestly wasn’t expecting to feel anything from Shadowlands leveling.
I heard a lot about SL, but never researched things thoroughly. After hitting 60, so far I feel like this is the best expansion in nearly a decade; the world of WoW(lol) is finally progressing it seems. MoP, WoD, Cata and BfA all had their lore, but they seemed like tiny stories that didn’t move things forward. I’d say they were akin to trying to escape quick-sand than exploring the world around it (MoP was pretty enjoyable imo, not gonna lie.)
Obviously this expansion may get screwed up at any moment, but for now, I just want to express how much of a ‘journey’ playing Shadowlands has seemed to be so far. Not all of it, but the overall story is what keeps it all in place for me.
Anyways, this isn’t criticism or a discussion…I probably just want to say “good job” to the writers/artists/composters/designers on their work, and CMs who delivered feedback. I complain about and critique Blizzard games a lot, so this is weird for me…I guess this is the end of my post? I’m fine with the thread dying with no one seeing it…I just wanted to say something.
The end.
