As I’m aging and have had several strokes, I am looking into other things that are simpler and more relaxing to play, especially solo. Hogwarts Legacy seems to be what I’m looking for, but I have a few unanswered questions. These apply to the PC version of the game.
How does character movement compare to that of WoW? Is it hot-keyable? I know it has standard WASD, but does that include Q and E for strafing?
How does targeting work? I no longer play games like Halo as my hand-eye coordination is now too far gone for manual targeting. Does it have tab-targeting or something similar?
How is spell-casting handled? I’m used to hot bars, but I’d prefer something smaller in scale, such as that in Diablo IV. Can you use hot keys?
Lastly, what’s the point, or end-goal? I know we learn spells and related things in classes, but after that, where does the story head? Is there a big bad waiting, are there dungeon-like areas with bosses? That kind of thing. I need a reason to play.
Thanks for any time and attention you muster in answering.
Well it has some resistance when you turn, but it’s not like GTA where you’re a tank You’re fairly nimble in where you turn plus can turn on a dime, and it won’t be a detriment in combat.
You strafe while aiming with your wand.
It kinda has it. It actually plays more or less like Batman or Spiderman, cept you’re always at long distance, so the wand points to whatever nearby. There’s also a lock on feature, as well free aiming.
Yes actually.
1 to 4 is your default for your spell keys, and you even have multiple bars you can go though like actionbars oddly enough.
Basicly there’s a goblin rebellion and there’s this evil goblin named Ranlok, pretty much terrorizing the world of Hogwarts, as well being allied by a few evil bandit humans. And you’re pretty much the harry potter equivalent of dragonborn, but with ancient magic instead. The goopy sha looking stuff that acts as your finisher atfer you filled it up by hitting enemies and etc.
And yes it does have dungeons with bosses, but that’s mostly related to story missions. I rarely if any seen one in freeplay.
