If I tank I don’t mind much if someone else pulls or takes aggro as long as we don’t wipe. I have never been in a mythic where others pull. In heroic or time walking, dps are always pulling, but it hasn’t been an issue.

I mean…I do mostly guild groups. If we want to try a new strategy or if the start of a key goes badly, we reset and restart one level lower. Glad Blizzard hasn’t left us out of the loop, we can get equally screwed.
Says who? Does Blizzard have some get out of jail free card when your baby climbs in the Washer and you ditch a BG? Nope. Deserter.
Just so you know, you have picked the wrong person to argue with on the claim Blizzard will never do this. I am ALWAYS right on these. When Alliance on Classic laughed in scorn yelling Blizzard will never fix us queueing at the same time to premade AV, its our advantage because we’re outnumbered! I told them they would, 5 weeks later the BG numbers were hidden and randomized delays were added to the queue.
Multiboxxers argued for years that Blizzard would never do anything against them as they’d been doing it to long and wouldn’t want to “lose the whales.” 6 weeks before the software ban, I was arguing things had gotten out of hand and Multi Boxxing was so prevalent as to be damaging now. And just 4 weeks ago, i argued with a fire mage who insisted Fire mages were fine and wouldn’t be nerfed because most groups only pull 1 group at a time so their uncapped aoe potential didn’t matter. I told him then to wait for the 9.1 patch notes and we’d see. Well we all see now don’t we.
I normal circumstances i’d agree with you, but messing up a tanks route for prideful can be the difference between timing and not timing a key. Accidents happen, but if it’s not clearly an accident then you’re out of line. Until this season is over, then tanks can deal with it again if they’re not pulling fast enough.
These arguments are so easily nullified I can’t help but think you’re acting in bad faith by making them.
In order to lower a key what do you do that only the group leader can do? You even said it. You reset the dungeon. Don’t you think it’d be rather easy for Blizzard to tie that to the completion score. IE tank leaves in a huff, he gets a red X, group leader resets and they do the lower level, no one else gets the red X.
The same thing works with the mutual agreement. Zone out, reset, no red X.
As for the rest of your argument, i’ll use the same argument your side does. Thats the risk you take in pugging. Next time judge your groups better, or run with guildies and friends.
When I tanked in BFA, I personally promote people pulling groups for me. Only given that I’m in comms with them and they know the intended path.
It keeps the group motivated and keeps me on my toes.
That’s coordinated groups, you know the dps won’t let you down or will at least try their best not to.
In pugs you’re lucky if one of the dps interrupts twice in the entire run.
I love it when those no-interrupt dps die and blame the healers.
always good for a laugh.
Former tank, and current healer here. I love the “you pull it you tank it” mentality. There needs to be more of this, and by extension more punishment of bad dps play. Now at least as a healer I get to decide if they live or die, and that honestly brings me no shortage of joy. I used to be a much less jaded and nicer person but a large number of people have ruined me for the rest.
Oh please. If anyone leaves a key, the run is done. Dps included
And I main a tank
It’s possible to 4 man with 1 dps down, but painful.
A healer or tank does guarantee the run ends, but that’s why we need at the least a tracking system for it.
It’d be incredibly easy for Blizzard to do, I just dont think they’re competent enough to consider all the angles.
Why is it always the 60-80% cleared mythic/+18 key runners that have the biggest egos and are the most narcissistic?
Not even the top world players are so cringe.
Once you start pushing 17’s and 18’s, you’re really only playing for time. Presumably the gear and valor aren’t really needed anymore. Those groups break up pretty amicably. I had a 19 fail within the first 10 minutes and people couldn’t have been nicer about it.
Bro (or sis), I just remembered!
One of the keys I left last night: We’re fighting Amarth (2nd boss NW), it summons the skeleton army and I always save divine toll for that so that I can easily round’em up, so I do. The dps don’t kill the adds because of course they don’t and the rogue starts blaming me that I caused the wipe for rounding them up; in her fragile little single thought dps mind he came to the conclusion that the adds only deal damage from blowing up if they’re close to us. Not even sure how he came to that conclusion since the healer and rdps were the first to die (rogue cheat death proc’d and I instinctively divine shielded when I saw the adds about to blow).
P.S. I’d love to read the arguments GD will come up with to defend these dps. ![]()
well if any are cc’ed and far enough away, he’s right.
they certainly weren’t all cc’ed though. and either way, once they’re in, you have to kill them.
The dude is trolling, he’s going into low end keys and ditching them. Why even acknowledge his non sense
No, only the corpses have a limited range. The ones that are left alive will deal damage to everyone:
nope. any that are CC’ed won’t do damage. you can trap/blind/incap (or w/e cc works on undead). has to be a hard cc,. roots wouldn’t work (for example)
as long as they’re far enough away from the dragon (not really a dragon but you know…), they won’t damage. any un-cc’ed ones absolutely will kill everyone.
The rogue probably blinded one. that doesn’t excuse him not killing all of the other ones though lol
