Aside from changing from a turn-based/command system to an active/cooldown based one, FFXIV made no significant changes to how any of the classes operate (except SMN because honestly the way SMN works in single player FF games would never have worked in an MMO). Which brings us right back to my point that Final Fantasy did it first .
