Even I didn’t think they would go as far as to remove the Frostbrood Proto-Wyrm. I have it. I got it. The first day it came out, since I already did the Dk starting zone in Wrath Classic. What’s the goal here?

There’s nothing wrong with it either. It’s the carrot to keep people playing, or to come back. Either way it’s a win for me, they make enough to keep the server fans spinning so I get to play.

FOMO sucks, and explaining to your friends they’ll never have something sucks even more.
Makes it harder for new or returning players to consider coming back.

Used to have FOMO in MMOs but that ship has long sailed.
I don’t care what your characters have. Heck, I have all nameplates and chat channels turned off, so its like a bunch of NPCs moving around Azeroth from my perspective.

The entire game is FOMO, sorry.
Trivial example. After DF launches, anyone playing in SL will be playing a “different” SL than the folks who were there at the start.
Why? Well, the games changed for one. Second, there’s nobody there. The lack of people make it a different world. As the catchup mechanics sink in, the game changes.
It’s not just about mounts, or toys, or anything else. It’s a social game even if you play solo. From folks helping with rares, to stuff on the AH, etc. etc.
DF will launch, the new zones become the Great Sucking Sound as toons pour in. We’re all weak as kittens running new specs, new gear, new bugs, new everything.
When DF ends, this, too, will change.
Someone was complaining about the prices of the expansion. Well, hot tip, in two years (or whatever), it will be free. On Nov 28th, Shadowlands turns legacy and will be “free”. No expansion costs at all.
So, if you don’t want to pony up the $50, wait two years and you won’t have to.
Don’t want to deal with the time gates, and crummy drop rates, and lousy gear? Wait a couple of patches and those all fade away. Gates go down, currencies get boosted (remember Anima?), catch up gear makes world content trivial.
Just wait.
But for those who do, they’ll be playing a different game.
As it has always been.
If you want to play, show up. This game is best when you’re on the wave front of the content with everyone else. Some like bouncing around in dead zones chasing obsolete gear. Most don’t. That’s why those zones are dead.
Come early, come often, join the party.

I mean who cares about that whole fomo bit really. Its a mount, theres a plethora of mounts that look even bettwr then that thing which can still be gotten.
Now if it was an entirely unique different kind of mount then ya but its just one of those 2 legged dragons that dont have proper arms, theres a few of them in the game already and it functions exactly the same as the others.

Ehh theres like 1k mounts to choose from in game already…
And theres also a good amount that are close enought too the same design as that mount aswell.
Alsoo id rather have some exclusive things in games, not every game has too give everything too everyone, its not even like these things give any advantage either they are purely cosmetic.
