I would imagine there is a fair amount of incompatibility between the old and new UI, so it’s quite possible that giving you both UIs in impossible.
then keep using addons? like i’m still using addons because i can’t move all i want. that doesn’t mean the new ui is bad, it just means it needs more options lol
edit:
like if you’re a literal default UI user, then the new UI is an upgrade, no arguments there. you can complain about the, which is fair, but it has way more features and there’s a preset to what it similar to how it was before.
if you’re an addon user going to the new UI, it’s a clear downgrade due to limited options.
All we are sayiiiiing. Is give UI a chaaaaance.
Well that’s a them problem they have to work out I’m not paying a sub to have this headache. That would be a self made problem for them to hash out.
No, that’s literally how things like this work.
People who have never coded before: “This feature is easy to think about and therefore must be easy to implement.”
I honestly don’t even think it’s the UI they hate, it’s just change they hate.
That is not what I’m saying please stop tunnel visioning. The new UI made by Blizzard is Blizzard’s creation. Problems that come from the new UI for instance the supposition that its incompatible with the old UI are not even in the remotest way my problem. Its Blizzards problem for not keeping it in mind when designing the new UI. I.e Blizzard’s continued failure to think farther than what a goldfish might is not my headache to deal with its theirs. Understood?
nobody should have to depend on a 3rd party to give them an option that should have been there on its own in the first place.
this type of attitude is why youre posting on an alt and not a main
Because your idea is objectively bad.
Why on earth would anyone upgrade something, then give you the old trash too? I am completely certain the discussion was had about preserving the old UI, and they chose not to, if it were even possible in the first place, and frankly that is the correct decision. It’s like if every time they released a new expansion they opened new servers for the old expansion, which is a bad idea too.
The idea of having a choice is objectively bad? I think that sums up your mindset which is of course fine. There’s no point continuing this back and forth when you unironically thinking have no choice is presumably objectively good in this instance well its just meaningless to keep talking to you. Also they did open a new server for the old expansions its called classic! Turned out pretty good so far but I’m sure you’re right about the UI thing :)))
I’m actually working on a fix for this right now. It’ll be ready in a day or so.
get a life
I get you want choice in your UI, but you’re completely missing all of the implications of what you are asking.
You’re literally asking them to maintain two UIs making sure both function every patch, and you’re adding more variables for bugs. That is an INSANE amount of man power for something unneeded.
And frankly, I still have choice. They gave me a TON more choice in the new UI, and if I decide I don’t like it then I just get an addon like everyone has always done. You are literally losing nothing.
Yes, as i said, I now have to use two addons instead of one.
My old addon: Dominos (not an option anymore, creator stopped support due to new UI)
My new addons: Bartender, HideTalkingHead
I have also not yet found a way to change the location of the dungeon finder icon…i really don’t like it in the middle of my screen, clutters it up when it could literally have just stayed on the mini-map in a perfect location.
I’m losing this.
the dungeon finder icon is actually worse.
The game already has this option.
not going to happen
No, it’s the UI.
This is the first iteration. Lets hope they allow sliders for color or something in coming patches
Yeah perhaps… but wouldnt it be nice if blizzard released something that was actually finished instead of making us wait a year for it?
You need your eyes checked then.
