I hate loathe and DESPISE wands

If you can equip it then you should be able to transmog it. Dunno why weapons are limited.

Cause Staffs are not range weapons, neither are swords or daggers,…hence wands are by themselves…you cant change a bow into a sword…

Which is why I either sell wands to a vendor or disenchant them on the spot. It’s a big upgrade (as long as I havea off hand to go with it)? Screw that noise, I’m keeping my staff (or Main Hand Dagger/sword + Offhand) til I getter a better weapon for that type! Cause at least with Main Hand Daggers/swords or a staff I can either use my Artifact appearance for transmog or have better options for either of those.

Wands are ugly, and I have no good options for them.

That’s why I hope when they examine the transmog restrictions they decide to allow us to transmog wands into a staves.

The animation between are different staff is a melee weapon, wand is a ranged weapon…hence you cant mog between the two…plain and simple…

Man, I agree that the limited mog options suck, but holy crap I can’t stand wands in general as an aesthetic thing. It’s like the most generic “haha wizards” thing imagineable and I don’t like it. They would be fitting for those overly generic green-skinned, big-nosed, pointy-hat-wearing witches in Drustvar and that’s about it.

Really? Then why can I mog a sword to an artifact staff?

You are talking melee, with melee…you cant mog a sword with a bow,…an axe with gun…it’s all about the animation…

On the PTR before BfA release you could mog different artifact appearances between hands. I saw Demon Hunters running around with one green flame glaive and one purple flame glaive for instance.

Obviously that was kiboshed by the time Live hit. I don’t know if that means it would be just as easy to flip a switch and allow non-artifact mogs mixed with artifact mogs on each hand.

But in response to OP yeah not being able to mog wands into anything but wands is bloody awful. Was stuck with a wand for most of the first 6 months.

not all melee weapons have the same animation, so clearly they have the ability to alter animations for the sake of xmog.

There are a lot of cool wands out there to transmog, not everyone wants massive weapons like you OP. I like wands and the art team has created quite a few cool ones, I even missed them in legion as not a single artifact was a wand. That said, I’m always in favor of increasing transmog weapon options, letting casters mog wands into swords/daggers if just fine in my book.

But not to shoot…ugh

This is what I used for Xmog when I was stuck with wands.
It’s the closest you’ll get with “sort of a dagger-ish” look.

Oh my bad I misread you post. I’m the dummy here lol.

Yea I just hate it. Wands haven’t been relevant for YEARS drop the animation completely imo.

I believe it’s an mechanical issue with the different weapons. Just a guess.

This is all I hate about wands. Other than that, I like them. I just wish Blizz would let us mog wands to daggers and vice versa, even if it meant the wand could no longer shoot or that the dagger would shoot wand magic. Yeah, it would look odd but when’s the last time any of us actually used shoot with a wand?

today i learned wands are still a thing…

do you guys still attack with them? and is the animation still the same as a throwing animation?

last time i used one was when drain tank leveling my warlock in BC.

Wands and Daggers should transmog to each other. Wand wielding Assassination Rogues FTW!

If your class spec can equip it then you should be able to pick any of the other types for transmog.

Not being able to transmog one type of weapon is like forcing hunters to being only able to transmog bows to bows, guns to guns. Atm you can go bow to gun and vice versa. Wands should be able to transmog to another weapon your class can equip.

Then they’ll need to modify the transmog system to allow such changes. Plain and simple. :skull:
