I figured it out. Why are you doing this to MW monks Blizzard?

Why is Aspect of Harmony’s stored vitality value completely inaccessible during combat?

As a Mistweaver Monk, I need to know how much vitality I’ve accumulated so I can make informed decisions about when to release my heal. But the tooltip data is locked behind combat restrictions, the aura’s points field returns 0, and there’s no power bar or UI element showing the value.

I’ve spent hours trying to build an addon to track this, only to discover that Blizzard’s own API restrictions make it impossible to read the number during combat — exactly when you need it most.

Every other spec in the game with a resource-building mechanic gets a proper power bar that’s fully accessible during combat via UnitPower(): Warriors have Rage, Balance Druids have Astral Power, Feral Druids have Combo Points, Shadow Priests have Insanity, Destruction/Demonology Warlocks have Soul Shards, Retribution Paladins have Holy Power, Arcane Mages have Arcane Charges, Death Knights have Runic Power, Rogues have Combo Points, Enhancement/Elemental Shamans have Maelstrom, Evokers have Essence, and Demon Hunters have Fury.

Aspect of Harmony’s vitality is the only resource-building mechanic in the game that’s hidden behind a combat-locked tooltip. This is a clear oversight, or a clear bias against MW monks since other specs have easy access to their resources.

Please either expose vitality as a proper secondary resource bar or make the aura data accessible through C_UnitAuras during combat.

Also, I don’t have access to beta testing in case you are already on it…I apologize if that is the case. If not…seriously, it’s an easy fix…

It’s stupid, but it is certainly not the only one. Practically every class has their own locked info for no good reason

I do agree in the current state it requires some tracking, but its practically useless besides slamming the icon into the cooldown manager’s buffs and adding a capped-state icon to the buff.

The easiest fix to this problem is no longer giving it a stacking pool. They’ve already practically made it useless for damage for Mistweaver since so many abilities have healing properties on them that eat through your vitality on healing, if you manage to stack enough for a dump during Aspect of Harmony.

If you’re healing in any capacity, your pool gets eaten via Sheilun’s Gift/Vivify anyways by Coalescence, and honestly it should just be a full pool immediately on TFT press with Coalescence’s effects active at all times, likely not at 100% value to make it a bit more balanced.

Yeah that’s silly. All of the addon arms race pain points come from information external to your character. Things that are internal to the character shouldn’t be hidden.

@Blizzard we still have a problem. You have whitelisted Aspect of Harmony Spell ID: 450769. This is the spending buff, when you press Thunder Focus Tea. So I can see the value when spending vitality. This is useless actually. We still don’t have an option to easily display the amount of vitality being stored when in combat, which is when MW monks most need it.

We need to see the amount of vitality being stored when IN COMBAT, from all vitality generating sources! Not sure why you have this blocked. It’s not a game breaking ability. It’s informational! Please!!

You have different spell IDs for the same Aspect of Harmony spell/aura, depending on what the spell action is.

We have all these spell IDs for Aspect of Harmony:
[450531]
[450521]
[450763]
[450711]
[450769] (whitelisted)
[450526]

We need Aspect of Harmony spell IDs whitelisted please. An easy fix, in the meantime, would be to whitelist 450521 and 450531, which are the storing auras when in and out of combat. Would be awesome to have all of them whitelisted tough.

Thank you.
