I mean, yeah it probably is but he also has a point. I have said it before, the only half-way competent people at Blizzard is Terran Gregory and the Cinematics team. The parallels Anduin has with Arthas, I feel is quite intentional.
When I say Parallels, I mean what they show us, not personality traits. Anduin mimicking Arthas when he returns to Lordaeron. Anduin again Mimicking Arthas when he is ascending the stairs of the tower to speak with Saurfang… it is eerily similar to Arthas ascending the Frozen Throne.
I feel this is very intentional. I predict that, right from the beginning, we were shown that Anduin, like Arthas, is a Scourge of Lordaeron, but for different reason and from a different perspective. In his time as King, he has effectively dismantled the Horde…
By sheer political maneuvering, he has successfully reformed the Horde Government, elevating or planted potential Alliance puppets at it’s head (Baine and Calia). He has seized Arathor, Kul Tiras, and potentially even Lordaeron under his sphere of influence. And via his relationship with Baine, he has effectively consolidated his power, directly and indirectly, spanning the entire globe.
Hard core-human dominated Alliance loyalist should be thrilled with this outcome… They have dominated all of Azeroth with their 7D chess playing boy-king. But… I think it is still important to note that this is still in play
“The Boy King serves at the Master’s table.”
