Everyone is so upset over the slime cat, but they didn’t change anything they released unless i misunderstand the situation. The info was datamined and assumptions were made from an incomplete product. How is this Blizz’s fault?

It isn’t. It’s a situation of people counting their chickens before they hatch.

The achievements up until very recently were actually in the live game and said any difficulty. Blizz stealth changed it within the last day or two.

Because it was on the ptr for months, no one accidentally put “any difficulty” in there by accident.
- it literally took them months and a week before season 4 to say “hey guys, guess what?” “NO” but sub to prime and get a helm and starcraft remaster

There is literally an achievement in game that said any. That’s part of the problem.
No one “counted chickens before they hatched” , they saw an achievement with the word “any” and assumed it literally meant any like any reasonable person would.
If it said Normal well then o well. Whether it’s human error or backtracking is irrelevant. If you go to the store and an item says 5 bucks but you tell me it’s mislabeled and is 10 instead that’s upsetting.

But the thing wasn’t “on sale” yet. That’s like if i advertised i was having a yard sale Saturday and i piled stuff up on my screen porch friday. You looked through the screen and settled on an item and price but come sarurday it was different. You dont really have room to be mad when, sure you could see it, but it isn’t for you yet
The achievement really did say any up until what yesterday? Blizzard have had achievements in game since LFR has been a thing that state very clearly on Normal difficulty or higher.
Just look at most Glory achievement and you will see, they all say the same thing for each sub achievement, on Normal difficulty or higher. (Or state specifically what difficulty)
It’s not like they have never had an achievement state this before and have made a mistake. LFR has been around since 4.3, that is just shy of 11 years since they released LFR and even the Dragon Soul Glory achievement states specifically what difficulty you are required to do it on.
They can’t have 11 years of content releases and than make such a mistake for a patch that has basically nothing for the casual/LFR crowd, they are 100% going to lose subs and not just because of the mount, but because there is nothing for those players to do, why sub for another few months for nothing?

Think about all those people that resubbed thinking they could get this on LFR.
Yes and no It clearly said any difficulty which is a easy assumption to make. Yeah while everything is subject to change they changed it with less than a week before it went live.
Certainly people could understand how there’d be some confusion or expectations where it’s less than a week to go.
I think the bigger problem is that Blizz has been silent since Kaivax confirmed LFR wouldn’t get the mount last week, despite heavy forum presence of players asking why it wasn’t made more clear.
And then today, on the eve of S4 they hotfixed the achievement text, and players only know because someone spotted it.
It’s more about “old Blizzard communication” versus recent moments when they have shown to be more receptive of player feedback in DF development.
What is there to say? There was no good reason to do it.

i suppose, i hope this is a lesson to them for future content releases though… not just for wow but for every game.

Half of it wasn’t what they did the timing with which they did it.
I’d be telling people to suck it up if they had done this months ago

Ok well the timing i can understand more, buuuut it is still banking on unreleased content. I mean every says “can’t trust blizz”, but the second a mount goes up that ppl like, they forget all trust issues
I mean context matters. Yes what you’re saying is trueBut this also comes on the tail end where they promise to have taken feedback into great consideration. Even the people who are telling you just run normal don’t really care if this was available in lfr
