Been saying forever that blacklisting doesn’t do anything.
Did you ask after the first 1 or 2 pieces of gear you won if you could need more? Because seriously if you are just rolling need that many times, basically taking all the gear in a dungeon, can’t say i blame them. I mean others were probably in need for some of that gear as well. If I win a great piece of gear, i will not roll on others, give everyone a chance. If I do get another serious upgrade, i will ask if its cool for me to roll need.
Sounds like Group Loot happened in a group with Group Loot and people got mad.
I’ve had similar whispers. Still waiting for the ban hammer that’s definitely incoming. Shit talking in general chat is very serious, surely tomorrow is the day that those reports will be actioned. I just can’t keep getting away with it.
In my guild, sure.
With friends or mutuals, sure.
But with pugs? No lol. That etiquette doesn’t truly exist. It’s personal discretion. When I’m running dungeons if there’s something 4 people need then they’re all gonna need on it. If say there’s 2 certain items that 2 people might want out of the dungeon and both somehow drop, then they might be able to whisper to each other to work out some sort of deal. Thats the etiquette I know of.
Then that deal is either honored or it’s not honored lol.
If we see someone in the group ninja loot, we just switch it to master loot. Problem solved.
I just put the toxic players and ninja looters on ignore.
wrath kid, go figure.
Honestly, it’s been known as proper ettiquete to wait after getting a drop.
Not really. That’s basically the whole kit and kabootle. Glad you’re on the armpit streamer server and not mine tho.
Coming from my perspective, don’t send me an unsolicited guild invite. If I wanted to be guilded on my alts, I would be. You’re welcome to send a whisper asking if I’m interested. If I get multiple whispers from the same person, or from several people, recruiting for the same guild, yeah, I probably will report for spamming. That’s seriously annoying.
To be honest, I just block guild invites on every new alt I make now.
well here’s the thing post bc maybe even though wrath your server rep mattered. if you tick of your people on your server your toon was toast. it’s one of the unspoken reason when blizz want to reveal people names on the forums people were against the. they didn’t want to risk getting bad rep.
people now like to say there is no etiquette but back in the day there was. you didn’t need everything, you shared mobs when you could and if word got out that you didn’t play by the rules you had might as well transfer your gold and delete the toon because you would not be taking it raiding or going to dungeons.
right now classic is bloated there are to many players to actively keep track of every rando but once the numbers drop you will see this kind of server rules return.
It seems unlikely the same person would win every single roll. This is nothing but sour grapes over a lost roll.
To be fair if you won 4 items in a row and other casters in your group didn’t get 1 you are being a selfish c***
This is the #1 reason why Personal Loot exists now in Retail.
Because one of the top reasons people unsubbed over the years was ninja looting and the sense that someone took something away from you that you felt more deserving of.
I do not send multiple whispers nor do i send unsolicited invites. I send friendly whispers explaining the guild and its intent and asking if people are interested. Thats it. One per person. And yet still people act like im some kind of monster.
As far as im concerned if you play an MMO and have problems with friendly whispers then the problem is actually you. Play a single player game if thats the experience you want.
People who play a game avoiding others based on some subjective blacklist written by salty nerds are pathetic losers who need to be told how to live life. Don’t mind them, OP. You’re the one in the right.
Not once have I ever experienced this mentioned etiquette, and mind you thats coming from a hunter, the class notorious for needing on everything. I still stand by what I said, came from Agamaggan which was where all the trash went for some reason lol. Yes I know what type of responses you’re talking about when someone is just blacklisted by the server, notorious for x reason(s). I just remember the amount of deals made before the dungeon run, everything asking what it is they need from there. Thats a decent form of etiquette there.
On that note, I try to run with as few pugs as possible and try to play with my guild as much as possible. I’ve heard some nasty stories going around with pugs and while I haven’t run into these types of groups, chances are less likely if I stick to running with my guild.
We always had a rule in guild at release for dungeon runs. if you need it, then select need.
If you win every roll, then you are lucky and grats.
Raids were managed with DKP.
If he needs it he needs it. I wouldn’t expect someone to not need on an item they need just because they got something good on the last boss we fought.
I always felt gear is free game especially in a low level PUG. Assuming of course its something that makes sense for your class.
Now if its a loot run and so and so is only there for X drop then that needs to be made clear.
