I changed the vendor in layer 18 to an anima cell… and the anima cell gave me 400 Phantasms, no other options. lmao.
Brokers Purse is the only option you’ll ever get from doing that.

Well don’t let him get to 10 stacks then? I don’t know what to tell you. I have several clothie friends who solo torghast every week and my spriest buddy is on layer 6 TC solo.
Do you not realize you can do that literally right now.
You don’t want to “solo” it, you want it dropped in your lap with a side of bacon and a foot rub.
As someone who has done them all on a priest. Take the powers that buff your power word shield and buff your health and buff power word fort. They provide an insane defensive value. Also look for, and take, the epic power that makes fade leave behind an illusion (and then take the ones that decrease the CD of fade and give you a speed buff). Also take the one where things can’t target you unless they’re in the circle around you. That helps too.
It isn’t that bad. It can be slow at times, but it isn’t impossible. You just have to learn the nuances of your class and how to adapt to the challenge. I’m a casual player this xpac. Work doesn’t let me do the hard M+ pushing I used to do, plus my group fell apart, so I’m basically leveling alts and doing torghast with them.
Adapt and overcome. On beta I went through at least the first 4 layers of TC on every class but mage (but that’s mostly cause I’m not a fan of mages) solo. And I did all 8 on half the classes. They’re all capable. Some just require you to be more aware and to truly learn spell/anima power interactions to defeat bosses.
IDK if this will help you but I always cherry pick the wing I want, and if possible a good power I know I need from floor 1. I always go for wings where I can use the Ravenous Anima Cell for a Marrow Scooper… this makes skeletons through the rest of the run drop 10x more Phantasma and I can buy most everything. You get 10 tries to get the instance you want by just going out and in.
The only other things you want to use Ravenous on imo would be 1 for soulforges to get 65% fire resist, and then as many as you can buy on Mawsworn Archers for Pocketed Soulcages (10-20 souls each).
I used that once on a bug (you know those little acid spitting bugs the mobs will sometimes be fighting). It turned me into a swarm of insects increasing my travel speed.

The Maw is really not that bad without a mount once you learn how to navigate. Also the layer 8 reward is something to work toward that gear will make progressively easier.
I’ve only done the first layer due to time constraints but I had fun with it. I will do the other layers when I feel like it and eventually get there.
I believe I heard of a rare in the Maw that can drop a mount that can be used in the Maw.

The only reason I got the mount was because it was a mount. Given the upgrades are account bound, by the time I got the mount I did not need it, I had everything else in the maw done. Farming stygia for the sockets and conduit upgrades is the only reason I need to go back there, and how little stygia you can get each day is not really worth the effort.
Even my alts don’t need to go there unless it’s for the campaign quests, and doing that without a mount is no big deal.
It’s a really bad system to take away mount access and than call it a feature to get that access back.

I second that! More bacon and foot rubbing. It lessens the pain of my recent failures in Twisting Corridors.
Torghast may or may not still be around. But the maw will not be leveling content.
