yes throughout much of shadowlands they did do that.

however 9.2 they basically did the whole “wow we actually know what feedback is” and implemented a lot of it.

question is do they get amnesia when the new expansion comes around.

That’s been their problem in Shadowlands. They held out on the covenant stuff for way too long. Blizzard gets a lot of good will when an expansion launches and they always tend to screw it up somehow. I don’t know if those subscriber loss figures were accurate during the first few months of Shadowlands, but that’s hard to defend if you’re Blizzard.

One Community Council members told me that they do not represent the community, they represent themselves, so I would agree opting out might be a great idea!

I think it’s extremely important to communicate with the people you might not like or agree with. We’re all stuck with each other on this planet and we’re no going anywhere. It would be far better for all of us to talk with each other and find a way to make this world a better place for all of us.

Asmongold should have been allowed to join the Community Council. Love him or hate him, it would have been a smart move from Blizzard to extend an olive branch to the dude. He has really good ideas to improve the game, but the developers can not let go of their hate.

If the goal is to both channel and encourage good feedback, the CC program seems to do the exact opposite. WoW has effectively created an “upper class” group of commentors that supersedes even the MVP program. And it is this class that the devs almost exclusively engage with and talk about.

When GD posters have to think twice about providing feedback because there’s no indication that it will ever be read by a human, that’s a problem. When average players can only watch discussions happen like fish in a goldfish bowl without having any legitimate means of communication with the parties involved, that’s a problem. When the existence of the CC program itself exists only as a means for dev self-congratulation as they claim they are “listening to feedback” without tangible results, that’s a problem. And when actual MVPs are quitting because even they feel like they cannot effect change in meaningful ways, that’s a real big problem.

Like, are we supposed to harass CC posters with our ideas for topics whenever we see them post in unrelated threads now? Because I’m sure that’s exactly what happens when a CC members posts in GD. Which is why you rarely see them post in GD.

I do. They knew what they were getting into when they opted into a system designed to filter only positive feedback to the devs, and this is coming from someone who generally enjoys the game at the moment. If they pull another fast one with Dragonflight by timegating everything cool or interesting I know who is to blame. The community council.
