Right. You cant abuse the system but still run UP TO 30 INSTANCES A DAY.
Take it to the extreme all you want. The whole purpose of rare spawns is to make the loot rare. You dont get a prize because you made a 10 man group. It is supposed to be something that when you get it, it is a treat. And you act like banning bots is something so easy a 3 year old can do. Just press a button. How about you provide these devs with your magical “ban bots” button and we can be done with this.
If you cannot use deductive logic to understand that something that is rare, and by the very definition of the word means: seldom occurring or found : uncommon. marked by unusual quality, merit, or appeal : distinctive. Then im beyond explaining it to you.
This was a two fold update. to affect bots and people gaming the dungeon system for gold, xp, loot, whatever
Clearly there is an issue with bots. Not going there. And clearly there was enough of an issue with people exploiting the dungeon system that they decided to make this change. You ask for them to specifically define what is appropriate gameplay when they dont have to. Read between the lines. You arent supposed to be able to farm jed for 60 hours straight to get the drop you want. You arent supposed to be able to make obscene amounts of gold cheesing game mechanics in ZG.
And literally none of this matters because they can still do whatever they want without reason because it’s THEIR game. Coming back to my last point in my original response–cope with it or quit, just like the rest of us.
it’s literally super easy. Here is how you do it.
Take a bot report, log into your GM account. You then see the name.
.t $nameofplayer
To run some tests (which are very simple) -
you check for deaura .unaura all - knocks off all self buffs - if they instantly reapply you likely have a bot.
Next, you can .cometome mobs into the bot. If he instantly attacks, or if he has another mob and ignores and does nothing intelligent - again another sign.
You can also rotate the bot and see if it corrects in a human fashion. Or if it just about faces at like a 180. Another sign.
Also, you can .die the pet for a lock or hunter and if they instantly try to rez you know you got a bot.
The whole process takes about 15-25 seconds to do.
Then you .ban -1 on your target for permanent closure. Keep in mind this is 12+ year old ways to do it. I’m sure now it’s faster/better.
This is also assuming that the anti-cheat is down. The anti-cheat for bot detection is flawless and you could daily perma ban any triggers on it and you’d likely have almost no errors.
Source: Former GM - this is how we checked.
Edit: I can do most of these tests today as well as a mage. I kite fozruk onto bots in highlands all the time, then nova on top of them. They instantly turn to him and attack and die. I do it till their gear breaks/pets run away in the case of hunters.
I just wish blizzard would admit this had nothing to do with botting
Fresh air is the cure to all mental health issues according to this guy.
You remind me of the old lady who claimed she photosynthesized her food. She would go out in the sun and raise her arms for a few hours and then go inside saying she’s full. Caught a lot of attention until she was spotted devouring fast food.
just because you imply things are obvious doesn’t even make you correct, nor does it make things obvious. So somehow, a 30 cap is working as intended to make rare drops, rarer? lol I can see you’re beyond explaining as you aren’t really sure what point you’re trying to make regardless. Why does having a gatcha fatigue-like cap reinforce Blizzard’s design ideals? What other aspects of the game should, through inductive reasoning, obviously have these types of limits? Things that are rare, elicit prestige: distinctive. Oh, PVP you say? But I’m sure you’ll tell me I didn’t use my logic here, PVP is such a different area of the game “let people do what hey want.” ? ? ? Which lines am I failing to read between?
Oh I see, so your argument is sit down, shut up, don’t make a scene? Be force fed what is given to you in life? Don’t question authority? Maintain status quo? Did I miss more things between your lines, I wonder.
Basically yeah, sit down and shut up. You arnt being forced to play their game. You have the pleasure of paying for someone elses game. You dont have to. You can do whatever you want. But if you want to play their game you have to play within the confines they suggest. Kind of like not stealing things IRL without consequence or any other of the 1000 laws IRL you need to abide by.
And yes. Being able to only run something to a limited number of times make it rarer and more special to have. I think you are finally figuring it out. There is a great post on the FP that talks about how in TBC you could only run heriocs once a day. If you didnt get a specific drop, too bad… its RARE.
And lets talk about PvP since you brought it up. The idea is CERTAINLY that you cannot coast to high warlord by simply cheesing mechanics and resetting a bg because it didnt have the optimal class set up. There was a penalty if you did called deserter, you know, kind of like a penalty of only being able to run 30 instances a day. It requires effort, dedication, and work to get there (excluding the bots that got banned for afk botting bgs which we HOPE they got everyone within their abilities). And again. It’s the limitations THEY are setting and YOU are paying for. If you dont like it, dont pay for it.
Firstly I’ve already unsubbed. Thanks, I’m glad you agree and support me voting with my dollar. Good on ya, I’m right there with you. Secondly the entire point of this post is feedback and a request for their feedback. I’m sorry that your post history includes repeatedly saying in numerous different forum discussions that people should “If you dont like it you can quit. Voice your opinion all you want.” or “Re read what Dot said. Dont like it? Get out. No one will miss you;” Thirdly I see how you could imply a deserter buff prevents a pvp equivalent to searching for Jed and resetting an instance- nice point and I agree it, however this cap change affects a wide breadth of possibilities; for example,
- I want to level alts today. I also do not have world buffs on Bearsatile for my raid tonight. Reasonably, I should get world buffs right now, namely Dire Maul buffs, but this is an added limitation in which getting pre-buffed now takes greater priority. I don’t want to lock myself out from getting the buffs, even if guildies will be running tribute later today. If I only level my alts now, I run the risk of hitting cap mid-day before said DMTribute group forms, therefore I need to run my own group or solo clear DMTribute for myself, now.
- Theres no in-game UI support to indicate if I am on lockout 25, 26, 27, 28, 29… despite having set a restriction on how often I can run unique instances, there is no in game information that will explicitly showcase how long I am locked out for, much unlike say a PvP deserter debuff.
I always wonder how many “adults” there are stomping their feet on these forums.
Are you a security guard IRL?
And ill bet a instance tracker is on it’s way. I can agree that should be part of it.
Yes… i feel the need to constantly remind beggars and whiners they are not the ones that own the game and therefore dont make the rules–good on you for searching my post history. Job well done.
Lastly. If you want to level an alt with 29 instance runs, that still leaves you with that lowly one DM run to get your raid buffs. And just because i find this an acceptable circumstance for my play style doesnt mean you have play the way i do. But then again, there are other ways to level besides spamming instances not to mention a plethora of other things to do in the game like leveling a gathering trade, a profession, fishing, and doing that on any number of alts you should want to.
I love the 30 instance cap. The game went from seeing no one questing and anyone out in the world, to a lively leveling game again.
If your time limits are cutting into your game time, maybe you shouldnt have all the best stuff? The game doesnt conform to your schedules, and it never has.
The reason there is a 30 limit is because people were changing how the entire game was played. AFKing dungeons is no longer a leveling strategy for people concerned about lockouts. It’s done, and it’s not going away.
No one except you care about your real life time restrictions. You signed up to play a game that we all knew requires tons of time and patience. There is one less shortcut for you to take now. Play the game the devs made, not the game you think you want.
