I Dislike Timed Mythic+ Dungeons!

Lolz, good luck doing any content involving incremental improvement of your character (IE the reason you play an RPG over a pure action game) without farming gear from M+.

Well there are a lot of players that the only thing they do in wow is pet battling and world quests, I couldnā€™t do it Iā€™d probably /wrists if that was the only content I had access to, not saying itā€™s bad but that would be hella boring to me.

Iā€™ve had people tell me the only reason they play wow is for pet battling, I would think their monthly sub would be better spent elsewhere like on pokemon games or something lol.

Having time-constraints is not what defines content.

Interaction defines content.

Where or not there are time-constraints involved in earning a reward is not the deciding factor in whether or not someone cares about and/or admires other playerā€™s cosmetics.

Pretty is pretty no matter how you got it. And the same with ugly.

Iā€™m not even sure why timers are a problem when most of the people who pug are not even that good/coordinated in the first place.

There are a lot of great pugs above 2300 RIOS, anything below that is typically groups that have like a 75/25% chance of failure. Iā€™ve been a heavy pugger for years even when Iā€™ve been in top 50-300 guilds, I enjoy it but i have high standards when I make or join groups which lowers the chance of failure. But yeah typically anything less than 2300 you have to worry if theyā€™re mechanically capable of doing content.

I hate hate HATE Mythic+. Itā€™s probably the one game feature that I truly just detest. I donā€™t see the point of it, and it seems to be a meaningless system that was added that doesnā€™t have any connection to the gameā€™s lore or story at all.

ā€œHereā€™s a random game mode where you just skip bosses and mobs and thereā€™s an arbitrary timer, have fun!ā€

That saidā€¦ I donā€™t like it so I donā€™t do it. Hats off to people that enjoy it. It affects me none.

Apples and oranges.

The NBA is professional sports league where the players are paid to perform.

WoW is a video game where the players are paying to play.

Iā€™m the opposite, I really couldnā€™t give a crap about the lore lol no offense, but if I wanted a story Iā€™d go read a book or watch a movie. I had an old guildie that once you started talking about lore would not shut up :stuck_out_tongue: I would roll my eyes every time.

Not to mention NBA takes genuine skill and genetic luck to participate in.

A lot of people DO like m+ though. Removing something just because you donā€™t like it makes no sense. The answer is to add more types of content to include more people. Hopefully Torghast is a step in the right direction.

The major thing is it appeals to the modern gamer: ultra-competitive, everything has to be the most optimal, you need to show how good you are sort of gamer. It appeals to e-sport and streamer culture.

What it doesnā€™t appeal to is the previous ā€œgenerationā€ of gamer that doesnā€™t want everything to be seen as a competition to see who is better and wants more RPG elements not more e-sport elements.

Thatā€™s me! I can go on for hours and hours about lore! lol My gf is like you, so she always openly snores when I start talking about lore.

That is seriously a solid explanation. I donā€™t understand PvE ā€œcompetitionā€ at all. This obsession of world first and mythic+ championships and whatever is completely lost on me.

Iā€™m fairly certain that the vast majority of ā€œremove M+ā€ posts really mean remove the timer or otherwise make the timer inconsequential. Since too many people treat the timer as the entire focus and not a bonus.

Thatā€™s the major issue. Itā€™s not even the timer itself itā€™s how people treat it and as a result how they behave in regards to M+ as a feature.

They donā€™t want to improve, they want to have fun. They do not find timers fun and would like them removed so they can enjoy the content at their own pace.

I suspect a lot of just the same sort of mentality that leads to celebrities being important when most of them arenā€™t really that special. Streamers/e-celebs are worse because they are just average people who donā€™t do anything special or important besides playing video games.

It may also be living vicariously through them. Like how people get super excited about sports.

Sorry but thereā€™s not really a lot of lore or story to be learned from dungeons, and itā€™s not like the lore/story is any good now in WoW.

You donā€™t have to adhere to the timers, weā€™ve said this before.

On the contrary, the lore and story of a zone usually ends in the associated dungeon. Also, I quite enjoy the lore and story in WoW.

EDIT: What I meant by my original comment was that the timer has no connection whatsoever to anything. Itā€™s not like the ā€œtimerā€ in Visions, which is representative of you losing your sanity to Nā€™Zothā€™s corruption.

Tbh I donā€™t have a single ounce of knowledge into the lore nor do I care to, as far as Iā€™m concerned burn it all and focus on the game play. I play wow to be competitive, gear is my reward along with mounts and pets, I seriously donā€™t understand why someone would go through every npc reading text, get an addon to skip all that. Reading quests was fine in vanilla but itā€™s just a waste of time now in my eyes.
