Here are some tips/my setup for anyone that wants to do this as outlaw.
- My item level was 611, I used Scroll of Momentum and Ara-kara Sacrood trinkets. My talent tree setup was very a standard single target Fatebound build.
- I DID NOT TRICKS BRANN.
- I had Brann healing, my Brann was level 38. I had Porcelain Arrowhead Idol Curio 4/4 and Relic of Sentience 4/4.
- If Brann dies just deal with it. Don’t bother trying to rez him. Just evasion if you have to to live. Zekvir actually rarely melees. Brann will autorez after ~30 seconds.
- Brann likes to run out of the room often and reset the boss when he gets aggro. The only way I dealt with this was I stealthed to the other side of the boss and started the fight facing the exit. This puts Brann up on the stage. I thought it helped idk.
- For Zekvir’s heal I changed DBM to give me a countdown timer and an alert when he starts casting it.
- If Brann is dead your Vanish will reset the boss. If Brann is using Feign Death your Vanish will reset the boss. If there is a Devilsaur up and Brann is dead/using FD you are ok to use vanish. The Devilsaur will keep Zekvir in combat.
- For his Enfeebling Spittle (the poison dot) I saved Vanish for this ability and used Vanish when it cast so that it wouldn’t go on me. If this is cast while Brann is dead you won’t be able to vanish or it will reset the boss. Just pray to God you have cloak ready, or you can also use Killing Spree to immune this dot as well. If all of that is on CD AND Brann is dead then you are probably dead, RIP use a healthpot idk.
- I only used Vanish on the spittle and on the cocoons for dps.
- For his Claw Smash ability (massive cone AoE) if you are on a cocoon away from him just have shadowstep macroed to teleport you behind Zekvir if he targets you. You can also have your cursor prepositioned out of danger and use grappling hook instantly when he targets you with it.

Im also trying to do this boss but in your video you are healing a ton. How? I am just taking autos for 1.3 million each with the same item level as you. Im just trying to straight up damage. If I use vanish Brann dies then I have to face tank but without evasion I have nothing. I am also getting randomly crit for 6 million.
Evasion gives a massive window to allow for you to use Crimson Vial for free healing. Having the 20%+ Vers helps a lot as well, since that is 10% flat DR and 20% extra leech/healing in general. Plus, using the two healing potions as needed. As well, the leech enchants work a lot better than people realize for keeping you alive. I’ve ran leech on my gear pretty much constantly since Shadowlands, since the effective healing from it is worth way more than Avoidance can provide.
Avoidance only works for AoE damage, which is a small percentage of most of the damage you’d be taking in a lot of raid encounters, since they do a lot of targeted spells. Plus, we have feint for the 40% flat AoE reduction. Leech works on all damage taken, period. It’s just a better option IMO. 45k HPS consistently over the course of a fight adds up to 20 million+ healing, vs 5% of 15-25 million damage in a 10 minute fight on heroic? Seems like a no brainer to me.
As far as Zekvir critting goes, you just have to health pot and keep going, or accept the lost run and reset. I had 20 something attempts before I got the video that got a kill, most of them dying to bad frontal placement or crit damage.
The fight is super RNG, it’s really just about slamming your head into it until something starts to work for you.
Not sure what level your Brann is at either, but he was basically paper until I hit about level 40 with him as well. He’s able to start tanking hits after that, at least long enough to give you breathing room.

Sorry my internet is TERRIBLE so I haven’t been able to make a proper video. Personally I never used crimson vial. I just walked over branns healing potions he throws on the ground and I think I used an algari healing pot.
Took me 160 attempts to do it on ??. Keep going, you’ll eventually get the right RNG to beat him.
Multiple attempts where Zekvir would’ve died but vanished to DPS egg caused him to reset. It’s frustrating when you can’t use a DPS cd to DPS. But, what can we do???
Blizz designed the class that way.

You can vanish while Brann is dead, if you’re at melee range of Zek’vir and insta uses an ability(ambush, probably) to break stealth.
Killed it with 606, Brann 34, same trinkets.
My experience was super RNG. Had a few fights where I could vanish and hit him immediately and it didn’t reset the fight. There were also some fights where he’s attacking me and as I’m hitting the spider egg, I vanished for BtE and it resets.
I’m glad it’s finally over though.
I never had any luck with this, i would immediately use an ability and he would still reset

It can get super frustrating. Makes me wonder why vanish isn’t fixed/updated.
It’s a DPS cool down. Let us burn it like one.
