I did mage tower, at level 52, proving how mage tower is not difficult AT ALL

There isn’t. A level 45 is a level 45. All that results in is how the rating to % is calculated for stats. In fact, the only difference makes the 52 weaker than the 60 when downscaled, because of the Rank 2s he won’t have earned yet.

That seems like an excessive amount of faith that Blizzard always pushes out systems working as intended.

It’s verifiable in game easily. You do understand how stats and levels interact and operate right ?

I mean, this guy at 52 has 1% higher secondary stats than I do without any enchants or gems. sooooooo, he’s definitely scaled higher.

Show me what you actually mean, use raw Rating numbers.

Also, it’s normal for a level 52 to have higher % than a level 60 for the same or lesser ratings, that’s literally how this has worked since TBC pre-patch.

Soooo… you’re saying

No, I’m saying a level 52 will have a better rating to % conversion ratio than a level 60.

If you take both and downscale them to level 45, both of them will have the same rating to % conversation ratio. By virtue of both being level 45 and using the level 45 conversion ratio.

Sounds like a difference in scaling to me -_-

Are you being obtuse on purpose ?

He was talking when they are both downscaled to level 45. Not when they are their actual level.

The starting point is just as relevant as the end point. if you can gear to a higher scaled point by just being at 52 in quest gear, then its easier than hitting 60 and being down in power comparatively. So for the purpose of mage tower, a level 50 wearing even lower level gear than a comparative 60 will not have identital stats, and a level 50 will have a far easier time.

No, it’s not. The calculations are based on your current level, not your previous level.

Gear provides rating, not %.

The % is a result of a simple calculation.

This is completely wrong. Item budgets are normalized, when downscaled to ilvl 50, a higher ilvl item with more stats won’t magically have more anymore. It’ll have the same stats as another ilvl 50 item :

Your percentages are being calculated from your current scaled level, 45. So a level 60 or 52 changes nothing, since the calculation is based on the level 45 ratio, and on the total rating points, which scaled are identical regardless of the starting point of the item.
