The Mind Voodoo is that with the inclusion of the 1 Month of Game Time makes the difference between the base game and Epic edition effectively $25.
For which you get:
1500 Trader’s Tender
3 Mounts
2 Transmog Sets
2 Pets
5 Housing Items
Beta Access
Early Access
Mounts are generally ~$25. So if you want ANY of the mounts, alone, you’ve justified the cost of getting the Epic Edition already.
If you are someone who will literally never buy anything on the Store, then it’s a money sink for little reason. If you occasionally buy something that looks nice, $90 Epic Editions are economical, assuming at least 1 of the things is something you’d have potentially bought if it were standalone.
This is all assuming you’re guaranteed to actually play the expansion, of course, but this is a 20 year old MMORPG. I’d wager most of y’all know before announcements even start rolling in if you’re gonna play the next expansion or not.
The core package of any given expansion is basically the same each time. So either you still like the status quo of the game or you don’t. The specific details are icing more than anything else.
