I use Mikanos (kyrian) for both prot, and while I’m slumming around as ret. I hate having to swap out conduits.
yes I know I could use pelegos for my ret spec, but god if I don’t hate chasing his balls all over the place. So what ends up happening is I’ll forget, then I end up forgetting to slot back my prot stuff and I wonder why my ardent defender is taking so long to come off CD.
I can’t wait for this poop system to make like a tree and get outta here!
How about you guys? Do you think soulbinds were successful?

I will miss some conduits, specifically the feign death damage reduction and interrupt granting focus ones for hunters, but I won’t miss some soulbind abilities. Pelagos is the reason my MM hunters aren’t Kyrian!
Absolutely not. Overall, I enjoyed shadowlands, but I feel that it would have been just as good, if not better, without the soulbind system entirely. Many of the popular conduits could have just been unlocked while leveling to go with the less significant level upgrades, like scare beast or the levels where you unlock nothing (which is the whole reason we did the level squish?)
Remembering everything to swap when changing specs is bad right now

Right talents for m+ or raid?
Right soul bind?
Right conduits?
Right loot spec?
I always whiff one of those

did I remember to swap covenants? aw crap i have 6 missions that are about 1 hr away from completing.

I’ll be sad to give up Mikanikos’s final capstone trait tbh.
Bron is miserable to play with, but Effusive Anima Accelerator is an absolute gamechanger.
To be honest I have forgotten about them already. I remember clicking boxes at some point and then promptly ignoring that part of my covenant hall.
I never wanted to be soulbound to Mikanikos. He’s weird and creepy. I’m paranoid he uses it to watch me while I sleep or something.
I generally use the Pelagos soulbinding, as it’s a great boost for gatherers, except the “Face your fears” one, which is apparently a “gift from Pelagos”. It seems that Pelagos thinks a distraction in the middle of combat is the perfect gift.
All in all though, I think it is a silly system made for the sake of making a system.
They felt like an extra thing for no reason, but I will miss the free goodie bags I get from Pelagos, Niya and Theotar(and the tea!).

How do you think swapping out talent trees will compare?
I’m hoping it’ll be a drop down menu you can use out of combat.
I tried being Kyrian for a bit, because Divine Toll is supposed to be the best Covenant power. But I just can’t stand the stupid blue robot people. It’s too bad we couldn’t just choose between powers if we had a covenant at 80, even if we weren’t part of that covenant at the time. I’m staying Venthyr, despite them being the “worst” for Retribution, simply because the other covenants suck. But if I could have a choice between Ashen Hallow and Divine Toll, because I have both covenants at renown 80, I’d be able to choose what works best while still staying with a covenant I can stand.

So did your problems with conduit swapping came just from the UI? If it had been faster/easier to respec, they would have been ok?
