I can't get invited to 10's

I’m currently 2900 this season and I had 3150 last season maining strictly a non-meta DPS. I’m nowhere near close to a top-end player and don’t claim to be, I just happen to be a guy who strictly PuGS M+ and plays with zero premade groups or friends due to an erratic schedule. Trust me when I say I know precisely the problems the OP is running into.

I been playing shadow priest and have not had any of those issues. I get in fairly easily and i just form my own groups mostly because im kinda picky and dont like when there isnt a lust and brez in my group

And we’re very happy that you haven’t had any of those issues. The reality is a ton of players are running into the issues the OP describes where they’re applying for keys for over an hour and getting nowhere.

Normally I am a healer. I was told other people wanted to heal this season and I had to go DPS. I don’t like the DPS classes with healer specs (I don’t play melee DPS at all, don’t like DoT casters either, and Shamans are just too complicated for me as Elemental)

They have friend groups they M+ with, I am a bit of an outsider. I show up to raids but don’t really talk to anyone.

Not on topic so much, but I would 100% leave this guild. You don’t seem to gain anything by playing with them while being forced off what you actually want to do.

There are a ton of guilds out there who will help you with keys, especially if they’re requiring you run them.

Then when I created my own mythic 6 group( as a test) too see what’s going on, people with scores over 2000 and 700 ilvl sign up. I see those with a similar score and ilvl to mine seem to be a minority. I see people who are way over qualified and then those who want to improve and also they do qualify. Guess who’s most likely going to invite to a mythic 6 group? Those who are over qualified or those who are the right amount?

this is why staying at the curve helps you can reach 700 item level with zero gear from 10s with just champion gear for tier and filling your vault with lower m+ and delve slots if you are under that you will get declines more my shaman is 702 with no mythic track gear and doing your delves would have allowed you to craft your two pieces of gear

Yup its why i gave solutions to solve it because what is happening is they just spam apply for the most over saturated role. OP is also trying to apply to 10s without even having all timed 9s and a failed 8. People will look at that and choose the other 300 dps applying.
I just make my own group 5-6 minutes late its key time. Even my friends who are pure dps classes just make their own keys if they pug and dont have the same issue. Legit its people just afraid of their key being bricked.

but even then i also offered to run keys with them if they so desire i play all 3 roles and normally get at least 2.5-3k on them

List your key as a seven but really keep it as an eight

I’ve talked groups into doing this to speed up queue times lol. It’s 10/10 effective

The struggle to break into 10s is real as a dps. Just keep pushing your own key until you get there. If its a tough dungeon you may have to lower the key and try again until you roll an easier dungeon with a new key (1 step back to make 2 steps forward).

Eventually you get all 10s timed and it gets “easier” - though with ilvl inflation still a bit of a pain. Question is, will you care to keep running 10’s by the time you get there (depends on your goals).

You think i got there overnight? Also no one looks at those when im not on the characters who achieved it. It ultimately comes down to my own skill expression and knowledge of making groups which is what im trying to share

In another week or two not so many players will need gilded crests or hero gear and you’ll get invited easier. This is an early season problem.

There was a post on reddit where one poster talked about how mage defensives were all actives and they were squishy. It was… wild. Many defensives, if not most of them, are things you hit before damage goes out not when you’re at 20%. They clearly just didn’t want to learn mechanics in dungeons/raid, and wanted to just be a tank at all times.

If you’re not absolutely terrible mages should be among the tankiest dps yet I see people regularly sitting on several mage defensives in every group I have with them. They never use remove curse either, but that would just be Dawnbreaker/affix this time around.
