I understand your frustration, however there are Always bugs after new content is put in.
Things sometimes work differently from Beta when incorporated into Live. It happens.
You can de-bug all you want in Beta, but when integrated with the Live servers… You get problems.
I think this might be one of the reasons they did this content update this week, with the regular pre-patch coming next week. It gives them a chance to fix issues then get it in with the pre-patch. Which, hopefully at that point won’t be so buggy.
But, there are always issues for a bit after new content is added.
Patience is required. lol

a UI reset is generally a good place to start with a major patch.
I’m a Gen-X guy (52 YO). I am a SW engineer who fixes bugs for a living. I see customers who are angry when our product breaks. It is always our fault. The customer is paying for a bowel of pasta, and they found excrement in it. Maybe they should just reach in and take it out? Why are they complaining?

Because the code is open so people can use that code in their addons.
if the addon hasn’t been updated yet, that’s on the addon creator. The Mixin’s (lua language) have been around for a few months now. But sometimes it might take a while if there’s something major that needs to be fixed.

yeah it’d be better if add-ons basically self disabled if they had a test run in a protected state and failed

Honestly, is this everyone’s first major patch or something?
These pre-expansion patches, especially the ones that roll out systems, are always buggy. It’s probably why they’re released a week ahead of the pre-expansion event content.
