I canceled my sub for the first time since 2006

I don’t understand why the OP waited this long.

To play Devil’s Advocate (I don’t care either way about High Elves): weren’t they originally our archer unit in the RTS? For their fans, I think an equivalent would be Ogres going Alliance but they’re Lightforged Ogres.

My two cents is Blizzard should just give VE a cleansed, blue-eyed option but they retain some VE features like hair color or something. I don’t really understand the High Elf craze, but it’s clearly something folks care about.

Did you expect that not to happen? If the alliance got playable high elves there would be those who would do the same, and you know it.

the idea to make us all into rabid nihilists.

oh definitely. people are frequently cruel to each other on the internet. by the way, i’m wednesday on that dock and i’m in a foul mood.

I used to feel it was a slap in the face and the more i have thought about it over time i realized what i ACTUALLY WANT is the fantasy of playing the Silver Covenant and NOT just some blue eyed Elves (although i do want to play SC blue eyed elves). The Silver Covenant meets all of those classic fantasy tropes of being the good guy High Elves that i sooooo long to play. You know, that fantasy of Legolas…although i am loathe to bring that name up but it gives you the image i think many are looking for.

There are troll’s everywhere on both sides. Life goes on.

I don’t know but they did say it was more of a last straw than just the blue eyes that were the problem.

I’m more of a middle class elf person, myself.

well i started advocating for half elves instead but the few alliance mains left, want high elves or bust. so i guess its bust

You just don’t get it, Ion actually accidentally sent out an internal memo the other day… he went over his stance on High Elves and how he was only so adamant against them because he wanted to hurt women because he knows they are soft and delicate things that all want to be pretty and good only :frowning: He knew no HE would be a deathblow to the whole female playerbase and bring back The Mans Club ™ to WoW.

arent you a funny guy. /tapes the kick me sign thats been plastered to her back for 15 years, to the closest garbage can. you can be funny without me

I’m merely holding up a mirror here~~

It really doesn’t, unless we’re allowing all sub-groups to be playable. You don’t see the Scarlet Crusade, the Shadow Council, or the Cult of the Damned as playable factions. The same can be said of the Silver Covenant. They are enemies of the Horde and traitors to their people.

There is a good reason they are not playable, the biggest being the lore which can be seen if one walks around Silvermoon. The secondary reason being that their ship sailed 14 years ago.

well i love males. i hate what has happened to them. i also am not a fan of what is happening to the alliance, which oddly enough, does have alot of female players. the devs started making chars to attract more females to the horde, who were typically alliance players, but i dont think it worked till they also nerfed the alliance and started using them as comedy relief at blizzcons

So…speaking frankly…I have a hard time with other people who have ‘moods’ in real life. They drag me down and I have to find a way to keep my distance so my own well being isn’t damaged. I’m always disappointed if my efforts don’t help them to be lifted and it’s as much to help me as it is to help them.
I wish you the best with your foul mood, but I don’t feel responsible for it. :kissing_cat:

^ What he said.

It’s not like it was that long ago, people. They were an Alli race first–to completely ignore that is disingenuous.

What I don’t like is the Alli theme/motif invading muh Horde. Keep em separated.

Also, my response here: Wellp. blood elves are getting the blue eyes - #697 by Quercus-ghostlands

The

in the long run, you aren’t. the devs are.

Blood Elves are High Elves…the alliance do not own the blue eyes. The cleansing of the sunwell has already started affecting Blood elf eye color…and we know that Blood elves could go back to their original eye colors.
So, you can rest at ease nothing of what you think is happening.

It will be what it will be. I have Void Elves, i will be down to 1 Blood Elf soon and i still want Silver Covenant High Elves implemented. Only Blizzard knows what the future holds but i think keeping it known is really all we can do.

Half Elves isn’t a bad idea, just not sure it can take the place of the High Elf good guy fantasy. I mean Blizzard has now shown that population amount was always a false argument just by implementing LFD and Blueberries as a thing. So no one could ever say there aren’t enough High Elves in existence and certainly Arator is a thing and could lead them if they needed to find someone from lore to do that.

For me when i think of Half Elves, i ALWAYS think of Tanis Half Elven from the Dragonlance series, easily the biggest character i have ever been attached too and i think bearded “elves” are an interesting thing.

ion can and did. and he’s the final word on the subject.
