I blame the players for hpal’s status

All the people saying hpal is in a bad spot, you’re right. And it’s just as much the players fault as it is the devs fault. Y’all gave terrible feedback in the beta, and made them think it was a good idea completely gutting our spec. I made a buncha posts trying to defend the old playstyle. I was met with staunch resistance and people twisting my words in the class discord to belittle me. Where are all you people now? The ones that said you loved the rework in the beta? Come defend hpal today don’t be shy. Maybe next beta, if y’all don’t act so high and mighty, we might not be the worst healer in the game. Thanks paladin community

This would all be fixed if we just had crusader strike!

people liked the rework BEFORE they gutted EL. It made sense then. No one was happy post EL nerf. You’re acting like you were the savior of the spec and people slighted you. It was the devs pulling a last minute change that’s to blame. This post is weird and self serving. Do something to help instead of trying to assign blame to the entire community. You’re weird.

The herald playstyle is fine. Herald doesn’t have much of an issue beyond numbers. You’d have to ask Blizzard why they think both holy paladin specs should be tens of thousands of HPS behind the top HPS specs.

Lightsmith maybe needs more.

Crusader strike is still lame.

This was a very strange Beta for H Pal this time around.

Yall remember when they did the crusader strike thing, then reverted it, within 24 hours?

Last min EL nerf gutting the judgement based playstyle was also very weird.

Lots of talents remain laughably bad, like Veneration.

All in all, the strange changes make me feel they just don’t know what they want for H Pal, and the players get to suffer for it.

I don’t know what your suggestions were or why you feel personally victimized, but I think hpal is doing pretty good outside of numbers tuning.

Pretty good outside of numbers is a joke when all we do in this game is numbers.

Like, the satisfaction of a spec is heavily tied to its tuning.

Imagine you, as hpal now, recognize in a Mythic fight: “damn, I really played well and it felt good in this one.”

Then seconds later the warcraftlogs updates, you see yourself on the bottom of the 4 healers with a 95% parse vs people who are feeding their pets, dying midpull, misusing cds and everything OUTHEAL YOU, while parsing like 40%

No, it’s not. Every single patch, every one that has ever been released, some class is at the bottom of the healers, tanks or dps. That will always be the case. The complaints OP made about feedback all revolve around gameplay choices, and my response follows suit.

Number will always go up, and number will always go down.

Going up and down is fine, but the gap from the top half to the bottom is INSANELY high.

Paladin is so badly tuned that in a niche that requires ST heals, a Monk with their secondary build (SG) heavily outperforms it.

It is not a regular “last healer” situation, it is a “troll level healer”

I’ll let other people math it, but that’s not an illegitimate complaint. It’s just not the complaint I was responding to.

How would it fix anything?

Easy fix IMO. Reduce EF to 2 holy power and take the 5 person cap off of LoD (have LoD refresh EF hot if it hits anyone with EF applied).

I’d like to use Judgment though. It’s weird we have so few abilities and it’s STILL not worth pressing!
