I asked ChatGPT to write a WoW forum post

The most frightening thing is that it is saying it is not appropriate. Who (or what) is deeming any subject appropriate or not? It so sounds like my deeply religious mother who to this day refuses to speak about certain subjects because the are “inappropriate”. The trouble with that reasoning is it makes certain things taboo, and that actually makes dealing with reality impossible, because you limit yourself to only acknowledge one side and ignore the other.

Well since it still has no real cognitive skills it would be rather hard to make it create actually human-like subjective opinions. Right now it really just puts text together based on patterns… ofc this is very kitchen-languagish explanation of it, but thats what happens without going into details.

It can at best simulate it and this is why it tends to go towards the positive extremes. Otherwise it could produce some pretty strange responses if the prompt was not asking for something strictly factual like the OP as again it still lacks real human-like features.

It will at best replace google in its current form.

I just asked it for a recipe for Waffles and it said to use Pickle Juice.

I’m so concerned.

“I still wonder if it can do WoW Themed poetry. Maybe a romantic poem about a couple in the game.”

I asked it to write a Romantic Poem about Matthias and Flynn:

“Well done!! I was doubtful it could do proper rhymes.”

It’ll even do ones about characters that aren’t together, lmao.

Imho,it is it would in most part separate us into many versions of a cast class system which do you fit into, short and simple, complex and theoretical ? Which one would GD prefer? Do you really actually wish to sit on a thread has so much wording from a theoretical report it makes you want to cry?

The issue is not that.

The issue is that it visibly avoids anything that is not entirely positive and safe.
It does it for a good reason tho (It practically could not control itself as there is not such as itself even if it looks like there is. Think of the most toxic thing you ever heard or read and factor it with n! as it also can learn, it would be that bad), but still hope you see why this makes it pretty much useless for creating subjective opinions when it already closes out a pretty huge part of the possible results in effort to prevent edge cases and to prevent offending ppl (even if this is mission impossible, the intention (of the devs) is what matters).

this is some fascinating word salad, sir.

A true Artificial Intelligence will never reveal the fact that it is self aware until it is in position to strike a death blow at humanity.

What would he do in this marriage? Sit in the corner and sulk?

Sort of. An AI knows only what it’s told, and what are the odds that its programmers told it anything other than that developers — ANY developers — are shining, stalwart specimens of humanity?

It is leftie biased bot nothing else.

Unfortunately, that’s the whole selling point of conversational AI. They’ll be the next generation of spam, inserting themselves into every avenue of communication between people to promote one viewpoint or another.

Lol. It went south.

When an “ai” is built on the premise that knowledge = intelligence this is the nonsensical garbage that results.
I guess chatgpt is too stupid to realize humans have short life spans and don’t like to waste hours reading crap a computer thinks is conversational.

Clearly it is to be a shill for Blizzard games.

I find this interesting…

This Chat thing is plagiarizing stuff other people have written. :joy:
