I am sooo over this story

I think the story is good as a standalone story but is a mess as part of warcraft story with a few cameos of some characters.

I just come to term with the idea that if I want to play a good rpg in the warcraft universe i play classic, and if I want to play a good instance based game with an interesting new story I play Raid Shadowlands

But y’all don’t even read the story. You skip all the text and cinematics lmao

It’s cheesy. That’s what Blizzard has always done best is the big bad cheesy villain. I’m glad they have gone back to it.

Illidan, Arthas, and Deathwing were all cartoonishly evil in the same ways I feel like. This expansion feels like WoW. The past few expansions where every story is a drama and a new evil shows itself every 14 minutes got old fast.

I thought Blizzard changed it so you could switch to Threads of Fate at any time, including at level 60.

The cinematic isn’t in game. It’s one of the four pre-launch cinematics Blizzard put out showcasing each covenant. The Uther/Arthas one is in Bastion.

Problem is, we came here to find some other mortals who were kidnapped. Found one so far.

Everything else is a forced distraction from the goal for the sake of having a full expansion. This kind of story doesn’t encourage me to participate in this world at all.

Are you sure? I’m going through my second char now and during the introduction quest in oribos there was someone I talked to (behind the inn) that looked like would activate threads of fate whenever I wanted. Might be wrong on that, but I made a mental note…

Edit: npc name Fatescribe Roh-Tahl at the back of the Ring of Fates

I’ll talk to him with my priest.

As much as I enjoy Revendreth’s weirdness, I don’t need to run it again. And I can watch the Denathrius cinematic on YouTube at any time.

Its also the only place you can get booze inside of disney land. That sounds like a win.

IDK, maybe FF XIV is for you then?

This is the best it’s been since MoP, so I’ll take it.

I like the story.

It feels unlike warcraft… like something new and far removed from what drew me/kept me attached to the franchise for so long.

Basically it feels like the developers/designers got sick and tired of making the same game we all love and cherrish and so did what they wanted instead.

I liked the concept of WOD, focusing back on the great Horde Warchiefs. I think they just botched the storytelling.

Oh ya, I really liked the part where we were doing the PvP quest line stuff when Garrosh smashed Anduin, and we had to help Vol’jin heal up. I actually got Revered that xpac with something. I just wish there was more story to that whole thing.

Legion was peak wow story TBH.

Mankrik!!!

The only problem I got with this story is I end up feeling like I want to find out what’s going to happen, but hardly like any of the Covenants. All but Necro is just terrible people, but Necro has terrible covenant abilities. It’s like you are being punished for wanting to join the good guys.

LOL, well, we all got our opinions, none of them compare to WotLK yet, but, SL might just do that. We’ll have to see.

Xpacs that is Vanilla was of course the top by leaps and bounds when it came to story.

i’ve grown used to the mantra of “it’s better if you forget it’s warcraft”

because remembering it’s warcraft just reminds you of the depressing amount of retcons and trampling of the old story that were required to make any of this plausible

I’m loving it for this reason. Nice to see something different.
