Oh my god I haven’t seen it but my visualization can not unseen it now. jesus christ Lmao
I dont think it is Sargeras as I believe they may be “brothers” which would put them on level-ish playing fields. He is also on lock down at the Seat of the Pantheon.
Enemy Infiltration-preface seems that Sargeras as well as the Void Lords, Naaru, and Life have all been infiltrated by the Nathrezim and have been manipulated with Life or presumably ourselves being the more formidable ones.
The Nathrezim are the source of Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination being placed on Azeroth. The Jailer had those items made by the Runecarver. If the eternal ones are of the same “loins” as the Titans as is eluded to in Ardenweald then not much else is beyond them to be their master in “reality”… I think zovaal is a rogue titan like Sargeras was. He’s been playing the long game. Sargeras used the twisting nether to play the long game. So while his attacks were a few years apart for us, for him they could have been 10,000 years or more of planning for each.
Often spoken by the NPC I kill immediately after they become attackable. NOW WHO’S THE PATHETIC MORTAL??
Honestly this whole expansion’s theme I’m not feeling. Shadowlands feels like it was designed for the living first and then last second they decided it was supposed to be the “realms of the afterlife” things don’t feel any different than on azeroth. Generic elf forest, generic edgy looking place with vampires, generic “maw” that feels like firelands. Realm that feels like Icecrown.
Also, how the f- did the legion create a helm that if destroyed can access the afterlife/and the lines between the two realms is easily accessed by a portal?!?! It’s such a mess.
Yeah the Jailer should take some notes from Peter Cushing and wear slippers. Slippers makes a villain more intimating.
They already said he’s not even the final villain of the expac, we’ll deal with him earlier. So really he is nothing.
Just another part in Sylvanas’ story.
In other words, just filler.
The Jailer is actually Sylvanas.
I think that Ner’zhul is the one pulling all the strings and will end up being the true big bad in a twist later on.
Pandaria was great, despite having almost zero lore roots as well.
Especially Lei Shen, the Paragons and the many Sha.
He looked like someone was playing Barbie while everyone else had their G.I.Joe figures. The cinematic where the character is jetting out to Oribos from the Maw and he is standing behind his lines of minions (ala’ Gul’Dan in Legion before he disenchants Varian) was just awkward looking.
Maybe, but he reminds me of Nathanos. Condescending.
Literally who?
I guess retcons don’t count
Seeing that hole in his chest makes me think about Bleach.
This is the game with Xavius. As long as a villain can clear that subterranean bar, it’s a triumph.
If the frostmourne has the power of the maw then what did the helm have the power of? Life itself? The kyrian/val’kyr? Undeath?
Incorrect. I’d like to introduce you to The Sha of Pandaria.
I will admit one thing that bugs me about this expansion so far is the fact that you have to “lock in” to one of the covenants.
We’re all in the SL to help each covenant, not just one. Heck, even your own covenant sends you on quests to help out the other covenants.
I still think they should have made a seperate talent system for the covenant abilities.
You are correct, but the underlying reason for not liking the Jailer is on the nose of what Zemus said.
Only that’s really just a case of “Any character you personally aren’t attached to.”
I remember Cata hitting and people whining incessantly about how Arthas was a cool villain with backstory and Deathwing was just some lame dragon out of nowhere.
Turns out those people had played WC3 but never WC2 to actually deal with Deathwing and the Horde’s chaining of Alexstraza.
So in a similar vein here, lots of people don’t like the Jailer because he’s not a rooted in lore backstory character. Which is weird because if anything, like the Sha, this means we can develop and build a character instead of having to obey an old game’s potentially glitchy lore.
I think it will be ok. He seems pretty cool and all the eternals are either not showing their hand or don’t feel compelled to explain much about him. I think it’s going to be revealed over time, especially what he did to begin with, and the cosmological war as a whole. We see both the light and void have ventured into and disturbed the shadowlands. Zovaal/jailer seems to know a lot about the cosmological war and maybe even more about the First Ones than we do atm.
Even though he is not some big bad we’ve seen built up over expansions he can still be interesting and he seems very convincing to all those that have joined with him. I’m not even totally convinced that he believes himself to be evil. He could just think ends justify means. I can’t wait to see how it develops further.
We don’t know why he rebelled or what he did or how the eternal ones managed to get him. I mean we know the primus made his chains and the heart of the forest/ardenweald keeps the maw inescapable but not much about how or the conflict beyond that. The arbiter seems very connected to zovaal and we don’t know what his previous realm/duties were, yet.
Would people honestly rather it be Garrosh or Arthas?
I’m hyped to see what Tyrande is going to do and exactly how powerful she is. The minions of the maw and their power were not enough to overcome here. She may be more powerful than Sylvanas at the moment and we know she is going to die horribly. I wouldn’t doubt it if we end up defeating sylvanas with tyrande’s help alone.
