I am late to the party but Warfronts are fun, at least imho

I love Warfronts! I agree that there could be more incentives, but I honestly enjoy them a lot - to the point where I wouldn’t mind if it was twice as long. Don’t get me wrong, I know most people who read this would shake their head, but I just really like the theme and mechanics to the point where I wish there was that much more to them.

My only gripe? We don’t get to be “elite” :frowning: Was really hoping this would be that time! :stuck_out_tongue:

So long as they offer useful stuff such as gear and weapons I do them.

I find them a relaxed way to do something in game compared to most other content that has more agro, more aggravation (cannot fly) more trash for less reward.

I like farming once I can fly and rate repeatedly running them on par with farming.

I run darkshore at least once each cycle because 400 ilvl gear still is a ilvl increase on my maxed toons, even the best geared ones have several slots that 400 helps.

do hate the RNG slot machine and miss things like the old honor / conquest pvp gear vendor, agency and choice in gearing.Same for a pve vendor.

They were fun for a bit. But really I’m sort of over them. I guess I ran The first a bunch for the gear it was great way to get some gear and get a toon in a decent spot equip wise starting out.

But by the time the second rolled around the only Ilvl gear that was useful to me was the 1 quest reward 400. The resto wasn’t worth it. So why keep running it?

Anyway I enjoy the mass chaos messy fights that come with a bunch of pugs doing dumb things, but at the same time I just don’t seem much reason to do them.

And if the don’t ever increase the ilvl rewards of the old ones it doesn’t really matter how many they put in, only the new one will be relevant to most the player base.

So what you really mean is “afking in the middle”, but you can’t say that as it doesn’t fit your narrative.

And that’s the problem with warfronts - they’re boring after the first time, your participation is irrelevant to winning unless half the team is afking and they reward heroic raid tier loot.

My alt has a 400 ilvl weapon from doing virtually nothing in the first time in a warfront. My raiding main still only has 385.

Im of a mixed mindset on these, while I do like parts of each warfront, I like Arathi better than Darkshore, I don’t like the Zerg nature of Darkshore, I’m one of those that tries to do the objectives to help the whole group, I find many ppl just blaze to the end in that one and leave 2-3 ppl to gather stuff. I feel in Arathi there’s just more “stuff” to do in it that makes it more interesting.

I wish that they’d up the ilvl for Arathi too instead of just DS, same logic as dungeons maintaining current lvls throughout the Expansion. Keep them all relevant.

Also, even though it got caboshed I was looking forward to the Barrens warfront, I want more of these just to add more flavor for this “Faction War” we are supposed to be playing in. Please oh please be working on a Gnome/Goblin Azshara warfront.

Yeah, Warfronts are a good story addition. You really feel like you’re fighting for the Alliance when you one.

How is something you can’t possibly lose fun? I bet you enjoy watching the same movie 100 times, too, huh?

According to one blizzard poster, you can lose them.

I wish the guild raid ones were out already.

I enjoy them, and I try what I can to make sure that those who don’t can get it done asap. Arathi is still the better of the two and on its release I didn’t think it was fantastic but saw potential with warfronts, but Darkshore drags on too long all while also feeling like we accomplished so little along the way.

The initial walk up to the base could be removed and just land us closer and increase the amount of spawns and respawn timers for the iron caches. Iron is a massive hindrance there for either side. When the fastest way to get your siege engines out is have the attacking force return the base to use their iron because the gathering players can’t do it on their own… you have a problem.

Rarely do I finish a darkshore in under 30 minutes with the fortress built and all the troops upgraded where as Arathi taking 30 minutes means you have a lot of afk people that need to be sniffed out and expunged.

Warfronts are extremely boring to me. Maybe post again after another few rounds of them, and let us know if they’re still so exciting.

Not to ruin your good time, but I will agree they were fun the first couple of times. Now sadly they’ve just turned into another thing on my things to do list, very similar to Expeditions, and World Quests.

Just like Ashran, the concept was great, but when finally implemented the replay value (besides the gear) just wasn’t enough.

I have never made it through a warfront awake or just getting up and walking away from my cpu. Wake up 30 min later and I got a welfare epic. So much fun.

I’m honestly suprised on how many find this content engaging, I hate it SO much like I was so giddy about them when I saw Danath and got some Warcraft 2 nostalgia but after doing it more than once the Darkshore one included it’s just boring. Not a single threat is in this instanced combat it’s the same song and dance every time and if it didn’t drop heroic equivalent gear (which I believe it shouldn’t) I would never do it.

My biggest criticisms are
-No rotating npcs to keep it fresh (For Darkshore)
-So much downtime (Waiting for Catapults/Glaieves)
-No real mechanics (nothing to watch out for every NPC is a tank and spank sometimes with a lot of health
-The only danger comes from when a lot of players are AFK and don’t pay attention to base.

Thanks for reading and I hope in the future casual content doesn’t mean content you can fall asleep through even in BoD LFR you need to respect some mechanics.

I like them too, and don’t mind that they are pve they are practically 20 man dungeon’s that are more dynamic than regular ones

I like Arathi but I loved it when it first came out. I despise Darkshore and if it didn’t reward such an OP piece of gear I wouldn’t bother with it at all.

I just don’t understand what the point is once you control the zones. You kill a world boss in each and then wait for literally ever for a battle again.

Am I missing something? The zones are completely unrewarding for like 2 weeks, then 1 30 minute battle then useless again for 2 weeks.

They’re a joke. Most players only do them for a chest when the quest for it pops up. Jesus, you can’t even lose.
