I am in favor of what Blizzard is doing with the prunning

DPS/HPS checks are also a challenge that have existed since the game released. Or are you suggesting we should remove those too so you can hit your buttons in any order (or maybe not even at all) and still meet the challenge of the encounter because you didn’t stand in the fire?

I like how you just claim I’m being Disingenuous while providing no reasoning to how. Every one of my responses quotes the source of your post that I’m debating. If I was being Disingenuous I wouldn’t bother to quote you at all.

These are not challenges they are performance evaluations. These are data driven evaluations not required to beat or play content.

Is that not in itself a type of challenge?

Bosses tend to enrage and kill you if you take too long.

No because the data gathered is ment as a performance enhancement not a factor in adding to the difficulty of content. For example if we down a boss and we’ll say I’m the lowest dps on the charts. All this proves is that I contributed less. The goal was still completed but the data gained shows that my contribution was lesser and could be adjusted.

What? If a boss puts up a shield and begins a cast that you need to interrupt but can not interrupt until you remove the shield via damage it is in fact required to do enough damage to beat the encounter. The same is true of the dozens of bosses over the years that have had hard enrage timers. DPS is, has and always will be a tool that blizzard uses to create challenge.

The challenge would be to obviously beat the mechanics. The data you gather will aid in the process. but it is a tool not a extra feature that adds challenge . Someone not calculating DPS can still do the challenge of the mechanics. If anything using add ons to check DPS or HPS are actually decreasing challenges as they provide quick answers and solutions.

What were you unable to play because I could make a custom UI with weak auras?

Im able to play mote classes because i dont need them and being required to use WA to play a class is dumb.

Outlaw and surivial needed WA to track everything to perform well.

WA or other addons are required for certain high end content. They will be more accessible in midnight.

People aren’t the most upset about combat addons, but rather the inability to relocate the information the game already gives you. HUGE difference, but ofc people who are against addons don’t fully understand them to begin with.

Pruning? Well, we still need diversity, there are plenty of people who do enjoy some complexity just as there are plenty of people who enjoy simplicity. Both should be able to find classes they enjoy and have fun on.

No, they can not still do the mechanic. If the mechanic is that 1 min into the fight the boss puts up a 20 million shield that needs to be removed by damage before he finishes a 20 second cast that if it is not interrupted 1 shots the whole raid then your raid needs to do 1 million DPS. Fall short of that and you die thus failing the encounter. The damage check is the mechanic.

If DPS is not a mechanic and should not be part of the difficulty then why not remove abilities altogether. Instead we can have a game where your character automatically channels a set amount of damage every second onto the boss as soon as combat starts so you know exactly when the boss will die. It will die in the same amount of time for every raid team if everyone lives. And all you have to do is move your character around to dodge stuff.

See, you have plenty of simple specs already, and forcing the people who enjoy more complex specs are now being forced down to your level.

You would be just as upset if all the classes were bumped up in complexity, imagine having a 20 step opener on all your classes. See how that’s not fun to you? In fact i see you are on a druid, balance has lost all complexity it had from SL already XD

your post will upset the elitist players who need the addons to complete the game asap.

I didn’t ask about those classes.

I love how some of you are so triggered on how the game is starting to go the way of simplifying and approachability. And no longer supporting complexities and convoluted and confusing gameplays.

Are you thirteen years old?

This is the truth. How many servers have become empty or world events not doable due to lack of players!

I have had many friends not even want to start playing due to the toxicity from the elitist players and overwhelming content. Blizzard doesn’t make some of the game play easy for new players to follow. Hivemind is a good example of Blizzard making the process overly complicated for new players and almost impossible to obtain. Why would a person want to join a game where a lot of the content is unobtainable for them.

And yet there are thin on the forums thinks these things doesn’t exist. And think the game is not complex or what not when it is.

And why they think it’s not a problem because of one blatant reason

ADDONS

How many players still enjoy the complex spec playing versus the more direct and simple specs? The game is evolving to be playable on the console. Be ready for Diablo 4 style specs and game play.

The game will still be complex as long as there are massively bloated talent trees. Even with the simplification of some classes, you still need simulations and third party guides to figure out how to gear and play optimally.

:dracthyr_shrug:

And that’s barely touching on all the confusing game systems before you even get in a dungeon or raid.

Mind you fyi dungeons and raids are also being streamlined on all categories. Starting in prepatch manaforge will be nerfed to the ground and all other raids too.

And also, they are making talents not be connnected to anything or make it so that is confusing in anyway.
