I Am About To Unsub Over 4k Stygia

And they don’t normally let people hoard currency like that from patch to patch anyway.

I do agree though if they have things set up so the rep doesn’t come fast enough to let people spend it, there is a problem.

It’s not what was lost or how much, or where - it’s that the OP’s experience w/support made them believe that they no longer value the time of the customer. This is a very important reason to speak up.

Guess you were super disappointed when all the Visions sockets you bought at the end of BfA couldn’t be applied to your SL gear, huh?

Is 9.1 going to be the end of SL? Are you assuming Blizzard is going to add an entirely new questing zone outside of torghast with a new reputation and new system for collecting sockets?

In that case, I think my assumption is far more realistic.

Do it. This is an absolute dumpster mechanic.

or as fortnite kids would say dogwater, no earnings.

Not entirely sure that’s true. Players know there’s a penalty for dying in the Maw, and that the penalty is a percentage of their stygia. So stocking up carries a risk of greater loss if you die.

The good thing about your situation is that in the time it takes to reach the rep goal, you’ll make back most if not all of that lost stygia (assuming you need 2000 after the large weekly quest rep gains). You technically didn’t lose anything you already had you lost buying potential.

Again I’m in agreement that this loss was not your fault, but I do think your initial feelings about quitting over this are extreme.

lul “he should have known the game was going to bug out and not allow him to log back into the game and rob him of his stygia so he deserved it”

No; he knew that staying until he maxed out pissing off the jailor could end badly. What if he was dropped on a boss? Or in one of the many places where you have to fight through elites?

lol… 99.9% chance you’re one of those people who creates topics expressing their absolute shock and horror when they find out that their current-tier currencies are reset when the next major patch is released.

And that’s assuming the sockets don’t get a “can’t be applied to items above 233” stipulation when the next patch hits.

But when you die in the maw, you are given the opportunity to get back to your body and retrieve that stygia. Never once, regardless of how much was left on my body have I ever left that stygia there. But my real problem with this issue, is that the support team has this rule in place where regardless of whether or not their game breaks, they will never EVER return any of the stygia lost in the maw, even though the only thing really worth buying with it is only available at the top level of reputation.

That isn’t what happened though. Can you read? Or can you only defend Blizzard from all valid criticism?

I’m a hunter, I have a very easy time navigating most of the areas in the maw. I got dropped in Perdition hold but I could’ve easily just feigned death, turtled, cheetahd out, soulshaped, etc. I have never had any problem surviving in the maw unless I get randomly disconnected.

Support never is capable of returning things like that. I am not sure they have the ability.

The only things they usually can do is reset quests, award achievements and move your character. They generally don’t have the power to give you gear or other things you lost or didn’t get.

They may have at one time years ago but I have seen no indication they can now.

That’s why at tier 2 of jailers eye, you retreat from the maw for the day !!

Houston, we’ve found the problem.

Depends how fed up you were already with the game. The proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

Just another example on why I refuse to farm for anything in the maw. Blizzard does not value my time in there or I would not lose what I worked hard for. That place can burn for all I care. It’s a horrible zone that’s not fun and I hate the place. Yea Yea I know it’s hell I’m supposed to hate it, well It worked and I don’t do content I hate. So I guess it’s working as intended.

Once, absolutely. Twice, sure. Third time, I guess… if you’re either clueless or a glutton for punishment. But five times? I would categorize that as exploiting a glitch to have something to get mad at Blizzard over.

The maw is a dangerous place. Change your panties.
