I Actually Do Want High Elves

The Blood Elves are the High Elves. The High Elves literally renamed themselves to Blood Elves after the Third War.

This is a game, ask for what you want. Literally if the game isnt giving you what you want, why play it?

That is like saying draenei are eredar. Yes all draenei are eredar. But not all eredar are draenei and we literally even got lore of Eredar becoming playable.

I want them so they can get all the High Elf customizations (or at least most, they can keep some of the hair colors) off the Void Elves and add more void customizations. Horde can get the Amani.

Blood Elves are High Elves, and as of the recent story events, the 12 remaining High Elves were reintroduced into Blood Elf society. Blood Elves are, were, and will continue to be High Elves.

Go roll a Blood Elf.

How has Blizzard destroyed the Blood Elves? We are alive and well?

Not even close.

Blood Elves are just elves with a different name.

Eredar are drenei completely infused and corrupted with the power of fel magic.

Case you missed it, we have fel elves just like that.

Stop while youre ahead before i push you out of another topic.

Good thing that you have three options to play then:

  • Blood Elves
  • Void Elves (without the Void Elf customizations)
  • Night Elf Mages

“High Elves” have been playable since Cataclysm, but folks don’t realize this, because people by and large doesn’t know what a “High Elf” is in Warcraft, and just equate them to looking like Blood Elves.

Oh they realize it. They just dont care. They wont stop until the name “Blood/Void” is completely removed and replaced with “High.” Thats literally all they want and its been proven over and over. Blizzard even added customization options that gave them exactly what they want, but it still wasn’t enough. They have 0 clue about what the race actually is, even trying to say that a political faction is somehow an entirely different race.

Its a mental illness unfortunately.

A high elf wearing red doesn’t magically become a different “race”, either.

As for the thread itself… I think we see more threads taking shots at AHE fans, than we see new threads by players who want AHE in the game.

Of course the real solution is to just ditch the hard-lock between “race” and faction.

There are more than 12 AHE just in the little outpost in the SW corner of Eversong…

I would agree if the blood elves, themselves, didn’t refer to them as the Quel’dorei. Even blood elves call them high elves.

I was largely anti-High Elf for all the usual reasons. They’re redundant. There aren’t enough of them to constitute a race. The whole point of the Sin’dorei going Horde was to balance out the wildly lopsided faction numbers.

Then Void Elves happened.

Compared to the Void Elves, the High Elves aren’t a terrible idea - they’re the greatest idea that has ever been thought of.

The Void Elves aren’t a race - they’re a retreaded regional side quest. Seriously, “elves play with unhealthy magic and get warped because of it” is just Quel’Lithien Lodge. By this logic we should have Slime Orcs because of what happened in Bloodvenom Post.

If 1% of 10% of the original Thalassians isn’t large enough to constitute a race, one rogue Waldorf School/commune is infinitely worse.

High Elves were redundant - Void Elves are nonsensical. They had no backing, no establishment, no nothing, just one introductory quest. The only thing resembling an actual tie to WarCraft history was Alleria, who is neither their actual leader nor shares their actual origin.

High Elves are still a bad idea for inarguable reasons. But Void Elves by comparison validate them completely. If at the end of Midnight they change them over to being regular High Elves and bury that stupid concept, that would be the healthiest thing overall.

You know, at this point I kinda want all of this to end in the least satisfying way for ANYONE, so my suggestion:

The Blood Elves learn from the example set by Aethas and Vereesa and realise that holding onto the past as much as they do is harmful, so they change their name back to High Elves.

(This is a joke, good god Blizzard do not do this)

Blood Elf players would literally riot.

I want Gnomish Worgens like that Gnome NPC in the barrens that wants to become a Worgen and asks a Worgen to bite him

Can they be called Gnomeranians?

Basing “race” availability on “population” was already a flimsy excuse.

The Void Elves and a couple other examples blew it up entirely.

I really want a deep gnome race\

D&D used to be a big influence on wow, not so much anymore.

Deep gnomes, or svirfneblin, are a serious, reclusive subrace of gnomes native to the Underdark. Known for their exceptional stealth and illusions, they survive by being cautious and avoiding outsiders. Svirfneblin have dark gray skin, stand 3–3.5 feet tall, live up to 500 years, and are expert miners and jewelers
