The explanation for why the designers changed pet to being stuck to a spec was asinine. They explained it was confusing pvp players who could not immediately identify what abilities that pet had.
we should not have to sacrifice our aesthetic and enjoyment just because mouth breathing pvpers cant tell what our pets do, passively.
There is no reason to ground pets that are shown in game flying. I donāt mind bird pets and other flying pets shrinking so they can have this animation, birds are not supposed to be big in the first place.
These look especially ridiculous on the ground, I have Classic Pterrordaxes and Plated Chimaeras in my pet stables, because those can fly.
I wouldnāt mind a pet slider, because the glyph to make pets smaller does not work on secondary pets or shrinks it enough. When small pets are tamed itās not the size itās tamed it gets bigger. I deleted my gnome hunter, because I didnāt like the small pets growing bigger than my gnome when tamed.
Hunter pets needs a ton of work, because itās been neglected for so long.
They start grounding flying pet in Shadowlands, they need to give flying codes to pets who can fly, making them smaller wonāt kill immersion or fantasy like grounding them does.
It should be assumed that a Hunter will be using a Cunning pet for PvP. Even if they are using a bear it can be assumed that it will be using cunning abilities. Hunters are more focused on the special abilities of a pet, and if they have any benefits.
it is the only one worth bothering with.
i saw a joke response in here couple years agoā¦some streamer says there is a boss where using some other pet was best.
yeah?
okā¦ONE boss maybe? but overall, literally 99.9999999% of the time ferocity is better because leech is giving you health back and is way better than having a few percent more to lose, or having some minor speed bonus that isnt any better than a single tick of Trailblazer.
I dont play my game for streamers. I play my game for me. lol.
I think sometimes people worship these youtube jokers as gods or something.
Remember Torghast in its early days before gearing up? The only viable pet for BM Hunters were Clefthooves without picking Beast Companion. It still is the best pet for soloing and not having Beast Companions is still better than having ones when soloing Elites if you are using Clefthooves.
Ferocity pets are even better as tanks than Tenacity cause they can constantly self heal. Almost every situation Ferocity is the best pet to use. It really narrows down your options for pets.
I love them but man, just way too big when you run in some of these old cramped classic dungeons, lol.
Agreed.
Ive tried all three and I watch my health bar when I swap around and yeahā¦its a very noticeable difference when you drop a ferocity pet and use one of the other two.
what makes me giggle is when people who CLEARLY have no clue about really playing hunter try to get involved in this topic every time it comes up and you can tell from the first sentence they spew up here that they dont actually PLAY hunter, lol.
Making a hunter alt to toy around with and really PLAYING hunter isnt even in the same universe.
Anyone who REALLY plays hunter knows ferocity IS the best of the three.
As a DK, I support the customizability of pets for all classes that use them. Pet classes are my people, and their win is my win. And their customizability ensures oursā as well.
Letās unionize.
I might just use your advice in the future. I found that two tenacity pets are horrible when soloing but some of content creators and their followers claim they are better for bm hunters compared to Ferocity pets.
Yup, pvpers have ruined the enjoyment of PvE players. Why does this game need to be dictated by just a handful of people? And I do pvp as well, and telling what kinda pet hunters use was never an issue at all.
I just wanna use my god damn birds while also providing a heroism to the group.
But my fav birds are cunning EUGH.
What is that? You want your bird to run around like a chicken and never fly again? You got it.
Yeah sure, the idea of a dread raven running around mauling things like chickens do would be funny.
That reminds me. I want Otiosen from Zerith Mortis to be tamable.
Iāve always thought that instead of being two people, each with 5% leech, for the purposes of leech, all pet classes should be considered one person with that amount of leech.
For example, letās say I have 10% leech and I do 90 damage, and my pet does 10. My pet, who needs the HP more, gets back 1HP, and I get back 9HP even though I was full.
Being two people makes leech dreadfully underpowered.
If instead, me and my pet are considered one person, we deal 100 damage and just get back 10HP. If it gets split down the middle itās still suboptimal, but thatās much better than the one taking the damage getting 10% of the benefit of the leech, when 90% of it goes to overhealing. If we were considered one person, with one pool of health, for the purposes of leech, that would let all the healing go where it was needed.
