Hunters need pet spec swapping returned and those derpy new fish frog things need to be tameable

The new skipper fish frogs are a tameable pet in The War Within. Someone posted a link of a hunter with one so they have to at least be in the first zone since that’s the only place alpha has so far.

exactly.
leave me with 1/3 of the playable pets.
Only way around it is to play BM and your main pet be ferocity, even if you dont like the pet, so you can play the second one that you do like and does fit the character

it was a pointless, mean spirited change that should have been left alone

I mean, for god sake, Hunter already has speed bumps…why the hell do I need another from a pet? LMAO
Just give them ALL ferocity or put specs back into place

sometimes you just have to learn to know when to use the ignore feature.

To some hunters their pet is as important to their identity as their race or choice of clothes. To be pigeonholed into a pet that doesn’t suit you is bad design.

That.
This joke of a change literally stripped the RP from this G as far as hunter pets go.
I have a dwarf that would look good with those hounds in EK but Im not using anything but ferocity pets, NONE of which fit his character

the person i replied to wanted it to be a flat 10% for all specs without the current buff.

I want my Toad and Blood Beast pets, but they all are Tenacity. I like gliding in the air using my Pterodaxx, but they are cunning. I hated it.

More like fish granted.

One of these discussions a while back someone who clearly ISNT a hunter player responded to all this saying something to the extent of …why wouldnt they need a pet who lets them move faster…lmao…
their goofy argument was they didnt want to waste a talent or whatever on trailblazer.
but…uh…duh…we’re wasting a combat pet spec for movement instead of taking ferocity. Not much difference there. lol.
I want my pet to be 100% about combat, and I’ll talent speed bonuses if I want them.

I forgot why this feature was removed. I clearly remember being able to change my pet’s spec at one point in this game’s life, but that vanished into the nether forgotten.

let’s talk about the fact hunters can’t show enchants then compared to every other class in the game
we had 1 gun that could show glows, and they hotfixed it

I want ALL the robutts for my Gnomes, Goblins or Mechas, but no, they’re practically useless being in the ‘mechanical’ class.

100% with you op

The only pet i ever use is my lust pet (its being a bumblebee always makes me lol). Luckly the 2nd pet i use can be whatever i want, so im not as screwed as others

Yes, I would like to see hunters choose there pet spec. I want my spirit pets to be paired together as I’m playing instead of the main spirit pet being benched all the time, because it’s stuck in tank spec and can’t change. Let pets change specs so I can have it with me properly.

Let hunters create the fantasy they want with pets to fit their fantasy.

Another bad design is grounding pets who can fly, this is happening with the new bird models which is a bad design and destroys the hunter fantasy.

I crie everitiem I summon my Zandalari Pterodax and Draenor Chimaera. I wish we get the option to let them fly when they move and land when they attack. Make em smaller if this hinders my melee friends.

Still using less pets, considering ppl use whatever works in a situation like a spider, or a random pet with hero buff.

Hero Buff should be a Hunter Aspect. Call it Aspect of the Primal Rage idk idc but make it baseline. Give Ferocity a simple mend spell or even spirit link with bonus healing, idk idc hust make Bloodlust baseline for hunters.

I missed legion, so never saw this version, but being able to choose my pet’s spec sounds so much better. maybe I’m missing something, I only play MM, and rarely Survival, so maybe it’s different for BM, and I’m no expert Hunter by any means, but Ferocity just feels like the only useful pet in almost any situation. Bringing a Cunning or Tenacity pet just seems worse than bringing a Ferocity pet or even just not having a pet.

Ferocity gives me leech which is pretty nice, but it also gives me Primal Rage (Bloodlust), which is really the only reason you even want a hunter in your party in the first place, and in all forms of content combing Bloodlust with Trueshot to get half second aimed shot casts is fun.

Tenacity gives us and our pets extra hp, but my pets don’t really need it because Mend Pet heals so much, and I don’t really need it because I’m never getting attacked. Enemies are always on my pets in the open world, and on the tank in dungeon / raid, and in dungeons and raids there’s also a healer, so the only time I’d need extra hp is if I mess up a mechanic, and sometimes raid mechanics are just a 1 shot and the hp is still useless.

Tenacity also gives Fortitude of the Bear, which is nice but I also get it if I don’t have a pet at all, so dismissing my pet for 10% damage is just more useful than extra hp imo.

Cunning gives me a speed boost, but it’s pretty small, and barely noticeable, and I already have a lot of movement speed, so I don’t really need more speed. Cunning gives me Master’s Call, which clears roots and slows, but I can already do that with Disengage and at half the CD (Disengage has 20 sec CD, and Call has 45) and it’s pretty rare to get rooted twice before I get Disengage back in PvE. I hear Cunning pets are good in PvP, but I don’t PvP so they’re just useless for me.

Which is sad, because there are a lot of Tenacity and Cunning pets which I like, but I can’t use because I don’t want to lose the buffs I get from a Ferocity pet.
