Hunters Mark rework is awful

Having to press Hunters Mark 5 times just to debuff 5 targets is a horrendous decision and no one wants this. Just make one mark effect all targets around your mark, hunters Mark is one of hunters weakest utilities to bring to m+ and everyone is going to want one hunter to constantly keep pressing mark in raid to new targets. Outside combat having to press Mark is fine but pressing it 5 times to mark all the targets is the worst and doing it during combat forget about it.

People keep insisting that asking “Do the devs even play this game at all?” is ridiculous but then you get stuff like this where the ONLY way anyone could think this was a good idea is someone who has never actually played the game.

They definitely should add an AoE application component to this. Every hunter should rightfully hate it otherwise.

Just make the mark apply when you hit an enemy, like in MoP. Why does it work that way for Monks and DHs but not here? That double standard is BS.

just have it be a raid buff. why bother with applying it. sure fantasy its cool etc but like. convenience…

Id even be cool with the aoe effect be reduced to like 2% and primary target take more.

I guess they wanted to keep the flavor and there are instances still where your target wouldn’t be stacked. 5 might have been too much to me 3 would make it perfect for council fights where it becomes a bit more relevant to want to stack hunters for it else.

Or just make it so only 2 or 3 hunters marks can be active during any boss fight if the problem is stacking hunters. This 5 target single cast solution is the worst possible.

random bgs full of hunts marking everything cant wait for that visual clutter

I came to the PTR forum section just to create a thread asking THIS!

Hunters Mark SHOULD have an up to 5 targets being marked in a radius of lets say 10 yards of the original marked target!

Its the only way to make it work in M+ scenarios.

PLEASE !

At this point I think they should just make it auto apply when you attack. Hunter is suppose to be the easy, beginner friendly class. Do we really want stressed out noobs being yelled at because they are not applying this mark all over the place?

Like you couldn’t have picked a worse class to add complexity and button spamming to, and as someone else said in here the double standard is bs. There are already other classes that just apply their debuff when attacking, why on earth are you giving the hard version to the most beginner friendly class?

Bunch of lunatics!

They pruned so many abilities this expansion, but somehow this ability still survives. Keep it as a standalone utility ability, and just bake the effect into our damage like mystic touch. No one likes applying it.

At the VERY least can it be removed from the GCD?

still would feel bad

if hunters mark is going to be aoe it just needs to be a raid buff.

having it ogcd means you macro it into everything

having it apply like mystic touch / chaos brand means it’s just a way better version of both

Not sure why they don’t just change hunters mark to work like Flare where you just use it in a targeted area and have it be max 5 targets or bake it into Flare.

Making it a ground aoe still would suck, just make it follow your targeted mark and aoe around it

cause what if it doesnt go on the target(s) you want it to go on with that appliation style?

just make it a raid buff. it doesn’t need all of these convoluted application methods

100% this, to avoid it being too ‘op’ as a raid buff they should just make it something of the sorts of.

3% increased damage to your primary target and 1/1.5% to secondary targets.

Or if they want to make it a secondary stat instead they have the choice of 3% Crit or 3% Haste as the currently missing secondary stat buffs.

Bumping this. This is a horrible implementation Blizzard, please reconsider.
