Hunters class any better?

That’s not how Growl works. You’re thinking of the druid’s version of Growl. Pet Growl works like Distracting Shot, not Taunt.

Go train it at the trainer in the major city (Iron Forge or Darnassus)

What normal trainers don’t train you Growl? Guess I missed that thanks.

That’s how I remeber it but every time i tame a scorip it would learn rank 2 by the time i even got into org

There are specific pet trainers that only teach pet abilities.

Oooooooh, well that helps lol! No wonder I couldn’t keep things off of me.

Funny, That’s how I used it all weekend.

When the hunter is using Growl rather than the pet it becomes a taunt.

Boars are magnificent little aggro magnets. I almost never had any issues with a pet boar taking and holding aggro like a champ.

Plus, they eat EVERYTHING. Anything remotely edible you find will be happily gobbled up by your vicious little garbage disposal buddy

Fail. . Send your pet in first before dumping damage onto it.

Brick the second felt really good in the test.

Pet mechanics are fixed and working as expected.
There is a slight delay after you kill a mob before the pet returns to you but I think, and it been a long time, but I think that is how it was back in Vanilla. . (All pserver people please hold your comments)

So, by and large, the hunter feels great and has been bumped up on my alt list after testing this week.

if two auto attacks can pull agrro from a cat…I’m sure it’s NOT the cat’s fault i guess

Yeah, but you could have just had the pet use Growl at the start and never had to worry about the pet losing aggro.

if it even casts it that is

This is NOT retail and this is NOT pserver screwed up crap.

You have to manage your agro with your pet. . Or face the mob toe to toe.

I would definitely recommend a leet gaming mouse for warlock/hunter pet micro. For hunter I also put ranged + melee on mouse buttons because I switch between them often in dungeons and don’t think addons that change automatically are fun.

Not true at all.

Hunter shots will break initial aggro on a pet almost 100% of the time.

By micro managing the growl you can ensure that you can control the mob and having it on CD allow you to grab a second mob if you accidentally pull 2 and keep it from shredding your face.

Again. . It worked. I had no issue with it all weekend. . Don’t know why you had issues.

Just curious
What kind of Pet were you using?

i could tolerate anything in classic hunter. Except mana.

Ammo? Sure, why not. Feeding pet? It’s actually fun. Dead zone? Makes sense.

But mana? For phys dps that already have ammo, pet management and dead zone? I’d rather not.

Anyway forsaken can’t be hunter and i can’t be anything but forsaken

Growl(Pet version) doesn’t apply “Taunt”. All it does is add threat to the target. How is adding 415 threat at the start of the fight, different from adding 415 threat in the middle of the fight?

I played 6 hours on the stress test as hunter. Pet felt really good, taught growl and bite on a hog and it held really good agro.

i never played hunter on vanilla at a high level but on classic i felt that when trying to max distance a mob autoshot turned off a lot (because of range) - that was a bit clunky but otherwise it was great.
