Hunter Scorpion pet is still broken NERF NOW!

If it weren’t broken there wouldnt be this many clowns defending them. I’d rather BM hunters be strong with any pet they choose. Not because of some OP spell coefficient on two species.

Most pets dont have spellpower coefficient conversions. Im sure Thunder stomp from gorillas would truck as well. But its a 1 min CD. And we cant get it at 25.

The problem is they arent going to buff anything, anything they do is going to be a nerf and effectively ruin the hunter class. Those are the only two real viable pets right now without them hunter is in an awful place and I don’t care about what might happen 4 months from now as i’m currently playing the game at 25 not 40/50/60.

The best way for them to nerf these pets right now would be to increase the focus cost of the abilities and then higher ranks of said abilities can have reduced focus cost if the damage evens out better at higher ranks.

Which is why its an outlier and needs to get nerfed. There aren’t going to be any hunter buffs if they have these OP pets. This problem is just going to get worse when bestial wrath is in the next phase.

Change BW to only increase the pets physical damage, problem solved.

This would also make the other pets more viable who are focusing on physical ability damage when BW gets added.

Or they could just balance the pets now, so that hunters aren’t forced to play spell casters like windserpents or scorpids.

Scorpid poison at max stacks which is 5 BTW does 20-35 dps depended on target you’re full if you think otherwise. Never has done 70 a tick. Kill command just made it first attack do a lot of damage. But if your lvl 25 with gear a pet is easily killed. Watched just about every class 1 man the pet or ignore it and kill the hunter like you do in all normal pvp. Warlocks can 1 man every class atm with their perma life steal i have seen a good warlock take on 3 people and survive with little assistance healing. Don’t forget the mass fear which is’nt cancelled by damage priest warriors can do. play the game and stop making things up. Also don’t forget it takes 30 seconds to get 5 stacks of scorpid poison. if your allowing a scorpid to chase you around that long without dealing with the hunter you’re pvping wrong.

poison 50%+ of hunters

Part of it is the multipliers

20% increased pet damage from talents.
30% from rune.

These appear to be multiplying eachother to a degree, meaning it gets the base value plus 20% damage. Then that new value gets +30% for the final values damage output.

Also pets have RaP scaling now, which the tooltips do not reflect with 100% accuracy.

So are we nerfing mangle too since they have the same damage?

No, because it isnt a hunter.

Cant get gooder my class does less than half the scorpid does and 1/4th the scorpids class does together

The ability scaling is way off.

In fact, it looks like it is getting twice the RAP bonus per tick compared to my wind serpent one time lightning breath. Basically, if my wind serpent is getting +30 dmg from RAP bonus, a scorpid poison tick gets +60. Then each subsequent stack is adding base dmg of a rank 1 scorpid poison instead of doubling it. So it seems like it is getting 10 times the RAP bonus (over the full dot) but only on the first stack.
Normally I would expect each stack to deal 8 dmg per tick (10+30 over 10s) before modifiers or 8*1.2 (BM talent) *1.3 (rune) *1.25 (well fed) *0.94 (scorpid modifier) = 15 (rounded) per tick. At 5 stacks it would be ~75 dmg per tick which seems way more in line with how the ability should work.

Again this is just napkin math and 5 minutes testing and may be wrong about how RAP → spell dmg works but this ability already gave issues in the past when they introduced pet scaling and idk why they struggle to fix it properly this time.

lol cry more

I believe thats about what it is doing now at max stacks. But i personally dont have one to test it, but thats what the reports i have seen recently say it is doing. Which is reasonable damage considering it is dispelable, and the pet can be kited cced and killed.

For a warrior, throw a hamstring on it and you reduce its uptime on you drastically reducing the chances of that posion reaching max stacks.

Shadow priests definitely need some love.

Yes but I don’t think you read what I wrote.
Currently it does almost the same dmg at 1 or 5 stacks.

Just dueled a hunter a few times, and they can do 100% of my 800 HP while I am in their freezing trap still. Literally globalled with decent HP, and the pet never even hit me.

The next duel the pet hit me, and I managed to LoS the hunter. My remaining 700 HP was fully depleted by the poison even though I was not getting hit by the pet nor hunter anymore.

Hunter is still WAY too strong in pvp.

Good, the game shouldn’t be balanced around your crappy minigame mode that destroys the fun of WoW every single day since 2004

Minigame? Half of all servers are some form of “pvp” while the other half are some form of “pve”. That’s a “minigame” to you?
