I’m still upset that in all the expansions you can’t roll a murloc (aside from cosplaying/RPing in the Blizzcon murloc suit withy Murky as your wingman). Murloc RPG will forever remain the only way I can live this experience.
Horde PVP: Orcs. The stun resist racial is way too strong.
Horde PVE: Trolls by very little. Berserking gives a few more autoshots per fight. Bow Racial is minimal but can reduce your hitcap when using rhok (aka the only bow you’ll ever use raiding).
Alliance PVE: Nelves have 10 more base agility. That’s about it. Dwarf Racial is nothing since you don’t use guns in endgame.
Alliance PVP: Both are amazing and it boils down to preference. There’s no clear winner. Stoneform rules against rogues but Meld is amazing to have in practically every situation.
Horde Aesthetic: Tauren>Troll>Orc
Alliance Aesthetic: Nelves>Dwarves
Though the aesthetic is opinions more than anything else really.
TL;DR Only orc is stronger than other races in PVP, and even then it won’t make or break your ability to PVP. Everything else boils down to your preferences since the racials play very little in your capability to PVE or PVP.

AV Xbow–>Rhok’Delar–>Ashjre’Thul–>Nerubian Slavemaker.
Rhok isn’t BiS once BWL is out but you’ll still be using it for a long time because Chromaggus never drops the damn crossbow.
You can also add in Larvae of the Great Worm (drop from Ouro in AQ40) if you don’t have Ashjre’thul by then (which can happen). It outclasses Rhok’Delar but still isn’t as beefy and juicy as Ashjre’thul.

If you want the best aesthetics, waste mats on a Core Marksman Rifle on a male Troll. They use a pump action gun animation and that gun looks vaguely like a Super Soaker. Together it is glorious.
Night elf. It’s just a lot of fun having Shadowmeld in general. Allowing me to afk in the middle of an aggro area with my cat. Afking anywhere while gold farming in instances (you will do this more than you think), and more. It’s just great since Dwarves gun skill isn’t worthwhile because you’ll be using Ashjre’Thul 90% of Vanilla.
I just love feign death - > Shadowmeld. They were made for each other. Gets you back up and lets your feign death cooldown begin to tick down to refresh again while you remain without aggro.
