Seems a new bug is making it so that when you fly after dismissing your pet as a hunter, the pet resummons itself. Just found out when I went to tame the fire turtle in front of the Firelands raid portal, and even after dismissing my pet when I landed from flying my pet resummoned itself and killed the turtle.
I came to this forum looking for others who experience this problem. Same as you, Virulas, I dismiss my pet and want him to remain dismissed until I want him back, NOT for him to auto-summon itself when I dismount… hope they fix this!

Its not just hunter pets…my lock pets also have this issue. I am getting tired of submitting in-game bug reports whenever my pets reappear and I did not summon them.
I shall continue to submit in-game bug reports on this issue whenever it happens on any of my characters.
